'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Yah he really does. Bray was a statue. All he had was arm strength.

I think that was a misconceived notion that a lot of people have about Bray. If you go back and look at the film of his freshman year commentators rave about his ability to use his nimble feet to create space for a good throw. He's no more of a "statue" in the pocket as Brady or Rothlesburger or Manning...

EDIT: Example Ole Miss game we played at home. (Kicked their a**)

Bray was adept at alluding pressure without running. He used some simple footwork to slide from pressure and get rid of the ball. One of the better guys at it too IMO. I think running QB's miss throwing opportunities because the thought process to run is vastly more in depth than the thought process to slide and either throw to someone open or the sideline. Options paralyze many good running QB's into making less than desirable decisions. Case in point Dobbs nearly threw 4 picks against Vandy before they just called 17 runs in a row for him.

Way too many...start a thread with CPF or him, and it has a bigger thread count than Egyptian cotton. :pinch:

Wrong. I am basing it on overall skill set for a QB and mobility is a skill set. QD has shown in his highlights to be a fairly good mobile QB. Bray rarely, if ever, showed that skill.

Exactly, you're basing your entire argument around his mobility. :good!:

Bray was a better prospect.

I wish Bray would have stayed for another year.

I don't blame him, but if he and his receiving corps would have returned, Dooley might still be here......

OK. I know. Be careful what you wish for.

Would have been ineligible with Couch... But in theory, last year with Bray, Cp, & Hunter again would have been a real gas

I do. He is a former Vol who gave more to the program than most any other fan of the program.

Just to clarify - the conversation you find yourself in is about TYLER Bray. The quarterback. With the back tattoo.

But this other Bray you mention sounds like a damn go-getter.

* I'm joking. Kind of. That guy was one of the best pure passers I've seen. Coaches let him down by not reigning him in.*

Can't wait to see what Dormandy and James can do!

From SoTexVol on 247...

"Q and Coach Dormady came by the house to watch the Gator Bowl. Quinten signed Smokey during a haltime ceremony. We survived (easily, Q is all Vol) a late push by Texas Tech after they lost their QB commit. The Dormadys are driving to Knoxville tomorrow to drop Q off. GBO"

He may have decided the Vols did not need another month of practice.

I enjoyed watching the game tonight, and think that Dobbs is a good player. But I am really looking forward to seeing this young man. Could be the next superstar..:clapping:

Love that this young man is an EE and as well as JJ. Will be some very valuable experience for both to get to get some good reps in for Spring.
