'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

“I couldn’t tell you (when I will decide),” said Dormady, who’s ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 174 overall prospect and No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the 2015 class. “We had visits planned, but, as of right now, those are on hold. I could make a decision pretty quick, but we’ll see.

“There’s definitely some more thought to go into it. But the game’s so sped up for this position. … Right now, I’m focusing on those two.”

The 6-foot-4, 208-pound Dormady visited Tennessee for the first time in March, and he said he enjoyed taking another look at the Vols after he received a scholarship offer from them May 28.

“It was a school that I was interested in, so we just decided to bump (the visit) up since it was closer than having to go back home (from Alabama) and then drive there. It was only about a five-hour drive up there,” he said.

“I really liked the place. There’s definitely things to like, as far as that goes, and things that they’re doing here in the future. I enjoyed my visit there. It was good to get back up there. It’s a beautiful place, and (there are) lots of things to like about it.”

Dormady said he talked plenty with Tennessee coachButch Jones, offensive coordinator*Mike Bajakian*and some of the Vols’ current players while he was on campus.

“It was mostly just hanging out and looking at the stuff that has been updated since I was there and just kind of getting a feel for the place again,” Dormady said. “I spent a lot of time with both (Jones and Bajakian) just talking and (discussing) the plans that are in my future.

“We talked quite a bit. I have had a lot of time there, so I didn’t have to see a whole lot. We sat down quite a bit and just got to talk about stuff. I feel like I fit their system.”

Alabama stands out to Dormady for some of the same reasons he likes Tennessee.

“They’ve got similar stuff to Tennessee,” he said. “The two programs are very similar, as far as facilities and all that goes, and both (have) great coaching staffs. There’s just nit-picky things that you’ve got to kind of look at to try to figure out where I’m going to end up for the next four or five years. It’s definitely not an easy decision.”

But he might be ready to make it before long.

“Right now, I would say, of course, it could be a couple weeks,” Dormady said. “But who knows? You’ve kind of got to go with the game here and make the decision that’s best for my future. And if that’s making a decision this week, then it is. If it’s waiting, then I’ll wait.

“It could be tomorrow. It could be in a couple weeks. We’ll see how I feel and whenever I get the right feeling and go from there.

Well now.

I think I like where this is headed. Go ahead Quinten, pull the trigger for the Vols.

I've never seen a more PC/coach speak interview. I guarantee he told Alabama writers the exact same thing, word for word.

Maybe, but how can he explain bumping up his trip to TN, then postponing his other visits...after getting to UT?

Honestly I think he needs to digest things. I didnt realize he was here back in March and was making a 2nd trip. I think the depth chart certainly has to help us.

I think he just wants to sort through, validate his decision and then announce.

He sure spent a lot of time here though, so we are right in it.

That he did. Him spending a day at bama vs 3 days at UT says a lot IMO. UT went to see him in TX several times. He had been on the radar for a while. Only thing IMO bama has over UT in this one is they are looking for (1) QB for this class and UT already has (1). Just have to hope UT actually recruiting him vs bama never bothering to even go see him wins out for the Vols.

No I'm just saying that was a worthless interview for helping us figure out who he likes more. I think we're in good shape.

And their OL recruiting has been better.

Also, Saban turns 63 this year. Do people start worrying how long he is going to do this soon as a recruit?

Article make me feel as if he is waiting on something. I wonder if we could be pushing Gibson for an answer and moving on if we don't get it

Several people felt it may play out that way. We'll see what he does. Could also be a situation where he wanted to go home and contact all the schools he was considering before announcing.

Also have to consider IF AU does feel good about Locksley(I don't think he goes there), would they take Gibson's commitment right now?

Our OL was bad, remember?

He was comparing bamas line to a UT line that has nobody here anymore. I do agree with Leb tho (finally)- our line was great in pass pro but I think this years version could be better with run blocking.
