The point is that .4s is about a step or step and a half. It seems like some people think the difference between a very low 40 time, like a 4.3, and a more common 40 of 4.7 is 7-10 yards. It's really not.
If it held up for 100 yards, then a 4.7 40 guy would only need about a 6-7 yard head start to outrun a 4.3 guy from end-zone to end-zone.
And when you take away the straight lines, and add different angles? Oh wait, that won't help you prove your point, lets not bring that up.

Wrong. You assume they would maintain this pace percentile across the yardage you state. If what you said was correct, every no wide receiver would ever be caught from behind. The difference in a legit 4.3 and 4.7 is huge. (I'm a lot closer to 5.0)
Do you understand what I'm saying??
It would only add to the point I'm trying to make. A 6-7 yard head start is something that happens all the time when you consider angles. A 4.7 guy would have no issue being effective in a run game - unless he got no blocks or doesn't know how to avoid defenders.
Do you understand what I am saying? It's not as simple and 1 yard head start, 6 yard head start or a -20 yard start. This is football, there are many intangibles and split second decisions multiple players make that could change the outcome of a play.
I could care less how fast Dormady runs. All that matters is if he makes sound decisions, can accurately deliver the ball to the playmakers in space, and takes on the leadership of the team.

Not necessarily true. It's all about making quick decisions. We run a prostyle offense still, don't fool yourself.
