This class has some great players yes...just not many of em. I'm just hoping like heck guys like Buchanon, Brandon Johnson and Niehaus etc., are way better than their rankings.

Hopefully we can redshirt some of them and have them develop. I think we are all in on 2017 for the "superstars" and this year we undoubtedly need results on the field (Atlanta a must IMO).

I agree, that's why I'd hold a few spots before I would just fill the class with maybe marginal players.

Let's see. Kongbo sang Rocky Top on twitter. Brown said nothing. Byrd said nothing. Warrior is most likely ours. Dickerson said nothing. Let these guys have their moment. We get some. We miss some. We might get a damn big surprise.

I was just being honest with myself on how it looks to me right now. I'm not wanting to be a "crazy" or an "idiot". I hope everything comes out alright, but the stormcrows are right about one thing, you can't have very many meh classes and consistently compete in the SEC. Who just wants to win for 2-3 years and slide back into the pit.

I agree with you completely. That is what makes this year's on the field results critical. This is the ONE recruiting class where 10-15 can work, but again, this year is crucial to get to Atlanta. Then it is gung ho going forward with regards to recruiting. :good!:

There is a ton of pressure building up on next years results..will we win big and move up into the truly elite, or lose our hard earned grip and slide back into the abyss?

Can someone quote Atlanta_Vol's post from earlier concerning Brown and UGA? I can't find it. Thanks.

Brown is the one that sang rocky top on Twitter.

Just saying we looked pretty favorable this weekend and nothing to speak of has changed. We get what we get and I think we get at least 3 of those 5. Those guys that visited got to see the best facilities and a very tight knit bunch of future teammates. I'm sure their visit gave them a lot to think about. I expect a pleasant surprise on Weds. Kongbo will learn Rocky Top.

It's all a good laugh man

We'll end with a very good class regardless of what the crazies say here

Thank you. I am so sick of reading the bs people portray as fact. The only facts as far as I know are:
Brown has repeatedly said he speaks only to his parents about his recruitment.
He says anyone claiming to know anything about where he is going are speculating because see line 1, he is only talking to his parents. So all of the "experts" & "insiders" are full of shizz when they say hes a lean anywhere because again see line 1

He shut down all communication Thursday other than a few tweets so no one has spoke to him since he left here & according to players & coaches he had a great time here.

He said after our visit he would break down everything with his parents & only then would he make a decision. Now this is very tell tell to me. Clearly his parents are very central to his decision making. After going home & being with his parents all day talking about his future, he sends out a tweet of himself with his family in the locker w coach strip & the caption Rocky Top you'll always be home sweet home to me. Now many have said this means nothing & maybe not. But clearly Brown is very calculating & keeps everything close to the vest when it comes to his future. so why do you send this out some 12 hrs after you leave & have obviously talked all day to your parents, why include the most influential people in your life in the photo along with the person who would be taking over that role in the future. Why include home sweet home to me, why not just Rocky Top or nothing at all just the picture? And then he goes dark again so no one can ask. Again hes closed lipped but does this 48hrs before signing day? 1hr before the dead period? Few recruits include even 1 parent much less their family. He knew exactly how that photo would be perceived by vol fans & coaches & he waited til it was too late for any coaches to call him & he put it out just b4 dead period. No hes a Vol IMO & I have thought he & his family have felt that way for a while. Parents that are that involved are usually high character people & the Rodney garners of the world can't buy those people. Brown, Kongbo, Warrior & Byrd. Mark it Down

Can someone quote Atlanta_Vol's post from earlier concerning Brown and UGA? I can't find it. Thanks.

I had said I had been hearing uga not out of the picture at all despite the aub/tenn pub. There is a girlfriend factor at play here in relation to his proximity to her and where she is going to college and uga is playing heavily on it. I know we gave it a hell of a shot just not sure if it was enough....but I'm keeping my ears to the ground from both uga side and our side...our side seems positive but with no confidence to a degree...uga side seems pretty confident. I don't have a darn clue regarding aub as I don't have a single tie to that program. We shall see how it plays out and if I hear anything more I will let yall know.

Don't worry our staff is confident this class is just as talented as previous classes. They have their own board.

Takes some stones to ignore everyone else and do your own thing. However, if the results show and your staff truly has a better eye for talent, that's a true competitive advantage.

I do think they took a few projects this class, but the good kind of project. High reward low risk

Impossible. NFL talent scout vs journalists? Surely journalists win.

It's not so much the scouts vs journalists as it is mass consensus vs a handful of staff members subject to group think.

Not bashing at all! More curious to see if they have the ability to see things before anyone else does. That's a true advantage, if they can truly do it

Based on the # of prospects TN hits on before anyone that eventually blow up into big time prospects id say they are damn good at it. Other teams are starting to follow our offers
