VIP Nugget: The latest on five-star Brown
New update up on GoVols247. I don't have VIP. Anyone that can hook that up?
Browns scheduled official visit with the Vols the weekend of Jan. 29 is just the latest indication of where Tennessee stands with the 6-foot-4, 318-pound senior from Lanier High School in Buford, Ga.
Sources have continued to indicate that Tennessee is more of a contender for Brown than most observers seem to believe.
One source said Tennessee, which hosted Brown last month for its home game against Georgia, has been led to believe that the Vols and Georgia are the two teams currently in the best shape with him. Sources said Browns mother planned for him to visit UT the final weekend before signing day.
With National Signing Day less than three months away, its hardly just a two-team race for Brown. But Tennessee undoubtedly has flown a bit under the radar in recent months as a legitimate contender for the U.S. Army All-American, and as Browns upcoming travel plans might suggest, the Vols are likely to be a major factor in his decision.

I like the part about Mom scheduling the Vol visit right before signing day.

I really believe this kid and Mecole Hardman are the missing pieces to a national championship. We're a Christian Kirk type offensive playmaker and another Shy Tuttle from being a contender.
To win in the SEC you need a 4 man rotation along the defensive tackle position where #4 is as good as #1. Tuttle, McKenzie, Johnson, and Brown. That's as good a tackle rotation as Bama right now.
Imagine this D-line rotation.
DE - Derrick Barnett/Kyle Phillips
DT - Shy Tuttle/Alexis Johnson
DT - Kahlil McKenzie/Derrick Brown
DE - Corey Vereen/Darrell Taylor
Talk about sick. That's 4 five star caliber DTs. And with Vereen's emergence, 4 sick pass rushing ends. Our D-line could be what Bama's is this season. DOMINANT.
Debatable. Kahlil and Tuttle are both more talented and quite a bit bigger. With a year in the program, I can see them both starting. Vickers will see plenty of playing time though IMO.
