Chris Daniels seems to be right in the middle of the discussion at DT. He just visited.

Do not think we will get Brown. Looks like UGA-AU. We need fallbacks and hope we can land Daniels.

I thought we had a pretty legit shot with the Texas DT, Chris Daniels. In fact, I thought GFW's latest comment was that we would find a way to take both if both wanted on board. Has something changed there that I missed?


I only have one comment to make on the Butch discussion: Butch is not required to answer to critics in the media. There's no benefit. Bowing his head accomplishes nothing but giving self-serving fans and media a 'gotcha' moment to gloat over. The only people to whom he owes accountability in this fashion are his own players. If you think he doesn't do that, go find the excerpt of his pregame speech against Georgia. I don't remember the exact words, but the gist: "Don't worry about making mistakes; I got you. Just go play."

For everybody else, his accountability is tied to the product he puts on the field. That is where he is required to answer his boss and fans: win. He did that down the stretch this year, and the Shoop hire is a strong indicator that the philosophical changes he made have stuck.

That's all I want to say. If you want to continue the discussion, I'll look for it in the Off-Topic thread (where this likely will end up anyway).

I think we're right in the mix. Having the last visit is huge and an indicator that we are absolutely still in it.

I do think we have some work to do on his OV - in particular, Shoop has a lot of lot of ground to gain with regards to establishing a good working relationship.

That de-comitt comes on the heels of him taking an OV to PSU. Ice cold.

Still hard to figure out what is exactly going on with Derrick Brown. He does not say much but I continue to hear from people I have trusted in the past that he ends up elsewhere than UGA. Right now I would say Auburn if I am a betting man, But Tennessee is in it more than people think. I do think UGA has a shot here. How much is the key? Can CKS turn this around in one home visit?

With us getting that last visit, it looks 50/50 between us and Auburn right now. I think it's funny that most UGA people would rather him end up at Auburn even though they play us both.

I can understand it. UT in the East and AU in the West. We are more a rival to UGA than AU. Also Brown ending up at UT directly impacts UGA's chances to win the East and play for the conference title.
