I have a client who is an attorney I am good friends with. He played center for Michigan from 1963-1965 and is pretty well connected to this day up there. He is salivating at this class and he told me today his information is that Gary is a done deal...now nothing is ever a done deal but his level of confidence is as high as it gets.

I am not GFW and he certainly knows much more than I do but I don't buy the "it's a AU and UT battle". I think it would be a bit of an upset if he ended anywhere but UGA or UT. Imho his family wants him close to home so it would lead you to believe that UGA is more of a factor. However, if his family is allowing Brown to make his own decisions then I believe UT will ultimately get him but family in general is the deciding factor in most recruitments. Just because a recruiting service believes a school is not a factor doesn't always mean a whole lot. Several times a recruit has signed with UT or another school where it is was "believed" that said school was not a factor, most recently Dante Fowler and TJ Yeldon.

I have read that the Brown family was close to Jancek. This decision may come down to what they think about Bob Shoop. There are no question marks about Strip or anything else going on in our program right now.

If the only factor was distance, we would come in third behind GA and Auburn and he would have already committed.

Still not overly concerned. They want to see what Shoop is all about before committing somewhere, and Shoop is a heck of a recruiter. I believe Brown will be a Vol come NSD

They like Jancek but G was who they were closest to. Butch does a good job of making sure a prospect knows several coaches to limit the impact of assts turnover. Shoop is a much easier sell to top prospects IMo

This is Vols recruiting forum guys and brown thread so if you want to talk about jim hairbut and the wolverines go to around the ncaa or something .i come here to see what everyone says about UT recruiting not another programs recruiting and how great they are let osu worry of fear them

Saban won't go butt up, crying on the floor, hauled off in an ambulance, then show at a basketball game looking like he's half froze in his down coat and scarf. He'll just cuss out his coaches and players, stand up straight in front of the cameras and talk like an adult man, maybe fire somebody, and then go about his bidness.

I'll talk about anything that Freak allows me to. FYI what others do in recruiting is relevant to what UT does in recruiting. it's not a vacuum..

Now back to Brown. Man I'd love to get him. Feel a lot better if some of our knowledgeable insiders felt confident in him...

Now it seems UGA has faded once again. Potato quest on VQ who has connections to his high school and has been informative in his recruitment is saying UT's in home is tomorrow and looks like it'll be a coin toss between AU and UT on signing day
