'16 JUCO WR Jeff George (UT commit 6/6/15)

I've always been excited about George. I really think next year we'll begin throwing the ball down field a lot because our offensive line SHOULD be able able to hold blocks since Dobbs still doesn't have much time at all to throw the ball. As it stands now, this will be our WR/TE rotation next year with height listed:

Jeff George: 6'6"
Ethan Wolf: 6'6"
Jason Croom: 6'5"
Preston Williams: 6'4"
Marquez North: 6'3"
Jauan Jennings: 6'3"
Josh Malone: 6'3"
Josh Smith: 6'1"

Good luck trying to stop that lol

Dormady will be slinging them the ball! With a decent OL I'd take Dormady over Dobbs.

Dobbs needs to show he can make the deep throws. I think ultimately the coaches lack confidence in his deep ball and that's why we don't see him air it out but once or twice a game.

I think the problem is more when he throws with conviction. When he is stepping into a throw and has the man open rarely does he miss, Now if he has to throw someone open or isnt sure exactly of the coverage i think he overthinks the play and thats where the mistakes come in.

Just my opinion

You haven't figured out he can't throw the ball yet? Tsk tsk tsk

Like I said, from a pure passing aspect, I think QD is better. He has a better arm. And honestly, it wouldnt surprise me if he won the starting job next year. That being said, Dobbs brings a dynamic that QD cant, athleticism. If Dobbs can fix his mechanics then he could be truly special. As of right now though, Dobbs passing is below average.

I completely agree BOT!

From a pure passing aspect, Dormady is a better passer. Dobbs definitely gives this offense a different dynamic. If Dobbs improves his passing, then look out.

Dormady is definitely a better passer. Dobbs' different dynamic is his elusiveness in the pocket and being an excellent open field runner but it seems that he has either been told not to do that or has decided not to. Either way, his major advantage has been negated so far. I'm not saying bench Dobbs, but he seems to be doing the team a disservice trying to be something he's not instead of just playing his game.

That's exactly my thought too. They've asked him to take away his biggest strength.

I would too..I think Dobb's would make a very good WR,IMO..He is a great athlete and as we saw he is a big play waiting to happen. He just sucks as a passer and don't see him improving. He had Smith wide open Sat for a huge gain and wasn't even close on the throw.

Would it be completely obvious if we used Dobbs for the zone read and Dormady in passing situations? lol
