'16 TN LB Tim Hart (FORMER UT commit 6/26/15)

No team, I mean No team, going to turn away a immediate impact player. I don't care if they have a full class of four stars. If a coach has a chance to get a sure thing, no miss player or upgrade. Somebody's going to lose their spot. There may be coaches out there like that but you're not going to find it in the ncaa. End of story

Are there sure thing can't miss players? Not really. What if he doesn't develop once in college? What if he can't stay qualified? What if he is busted holding up a car load of folks with a BB gun and scores a cheeseburger in the robbery? What if he doesn't get the starting job day 1 and transfers? Stars are not always it. Dontavious Blair was a 4 star sought after Juco stud. That sure didn't pan out. Recruiting is a lot of guessing.

And if we don't get a guy or guys that we could've gotten. Because we decide to hold on to some with less upside. Same people would be ready to run CBJ out of town.

Absolute BS. Right ole brother.

I guess that depends on who your talking to. If the class is full or a position is full I'm fine with not pushing for more commitments for that position. Therefore you wouldn't really know if you COULD of got someone else. Your full and moving on.

I don't like it but this is the nature of recruiting right now...early signing period would fix a lot of these issues.

Fairly classy post by the kid. He feels the staff did not want him anymore and wished them luck.

We must feel good about a few of our top 100 targets.

I don't like the way recruiting works but it's the name of the game. I wish this kid the best of luck.

We should be able to take class fillers late if needed.. No need to take so many head scratchers early... There are more than hart...

Time will tell, but most non-orange individuals feel we will not get Dickerson, Hardman. or Brown.:hi:

Better enjoy Richmond because Butch is never getting another player from MUS. He already had to rebuild that bridge from his Cincinnati days and he just probably burned it again.

That doesn't look real great, but these coaches have to take the best talent they can. It's not like a kid hasn't last minute screwed a school over before either. Just a dirty game.

Welp I hope MUS never has another player we want. Strike 2 with that coach. This staff for all the good they do in recruiting etc really isn't very good at the a whole slow play or get a kid to decommit without being incredibly offended thing. It seems like other schools don't really have an issue with the nice way to nudge someone elsewhere. Whenever we slow play someone they take us off the board lol

Key issue with me is that, according to Hart, we weren't straightforward. If this is how it is nowadays, the least we can be is honest.

"Hey, Tim. You've been a loyal commit for six months now. However, your position is one that we've been recruiting many players at and we are running out of scholarships. Some of those guys we feel are better fits at our program. We need to take back our offer."

Sucks to say but man up and best honest.

While I don't like burning a bridge, MUS doesn't have many high level prospects on a consistent basis. Most of their players go to places like Vandy and schools in the American Conference and mid majors. Drew Richmond was an exception.

Keep in mind that you're hearing basically one side of the story and running with it.

It's too bad this happens. I would not be surprised at all to see UT struggle with instate recruiting in 2017. High school coaches and recruits pay attention to this stuff. Signing at most 3 instate guys in a class of 21-22 is a mistake. I think we see the result of this in the 2017 class.
