'16 TN LB Tim Hart (FORMER UT commit 6/26/15)

If we start winning and competing for championships, all these supposed bridges that are burned will be rebuilt with the bodies of 18 year old kids wanting to join the best.

Look at Bama

Winning cures all

Yep.

Win 10 games this year and all is forgotten.

Lose a few games like florida And Oklahoma and things like this start making people very sour

So the staff miss evaluated him. I guess their **** does stink sometimes

And? Who ****ing cares, dude. This is recruiting. Either get with the program or stop following it since you're obviously too delicate to handle it.

If he feels he was done wrong, he has the right to say it. Coaches being able to talk kids into keeping negative recruiting quiet is partly why they are able to continue doing it.

In college I went to a school to play sports, and a couple of years down the road I hung it up due to injuries and feeling wronged by my coach. Did I post on Twitter how I felt about how my coach treated me and her underhanded ways? No. If a recruit asks me what I think about her, however, I'll let them know my opinion and be done with it. However, I will not publicly bash her on social media or in the newspaper. That's not needed. I can understand how this kid feels because I've been there myself, but in my opinion I think the whole note was unneeded. Just a simple announcement of his decommitment would've sufficed

Better enjoy Richmond because Butch is never getting another player from MUS. He already had to rebuild that bridge from his Cincinnati days and he just probably burned it again.

Man...I bet you're enjoying this...just over in your corner fapping away to it.

Who cares about this dude, really?

Big loss, pfft.

It's the bridge burning crowd... I remember them well from the Dews and Ford threads last year and also the Sterling Johnson thread who was just being slow played and wound up at Clemson. It's alarmist nonsense.

At least acknowledge that this happens at every major program. Oregon just dropped McDoom. Bama has a number of decommitts every year due to the fact they get better options. It isn't like this is a once in a blue moon, rare occurrence in college football. It is the nature of the beast everywhere if you want to be successful. Is it honorable? No. Is it honorable when a kid tells a coach he's coming to play football for them and flips unexpectedly, ala Hunter Johnson? No. Nature of the beast

He won't admit that, he is too invested in his horse**** narrative.

Very different.

You felt you were wronged by a coach while you were in school. You actually attended the school.
Tim looks to feel he was wronged by a coach who told him one thing and then didn't want to coach him at all.

I bet UT has more decommits than Bama though right?

As volgirl suggested, this happens even in non-revenue sports at non-major programs. It is what it is. Of course every coach will take the best talent. That's what they're there for. It sucks, but kids get cut all the time from non-revenue teams at small schools. And if it happens there, of course it will happen in UT football. Like I said, it is what it is.

Who are some recruits Alabama picked up at the beginning of the year to drop later for better players? I see that posted a lot, but no examples. Genuinely curious. I only follow Tennessee recruiting.

I don't know the details of volgirl's experience, but IMO it's worse to get cut after a year (or even less) or whatever than to get the message before you enroll. At least Hart can decide if he wants to be at the bottom of the totem pole or not. If you want to be untouchable, you need to go somewhere where you can be a big fish in a small pond. If you want to play at the highest level, you have to accept the fact that you might not cut it.

People can say what they want about it being part of the business and I agree...to an extent. This is a black eye cause it's in the public now. And I agree, consider MUS off limits going forward and a lot of Memphis in general. There's always 2 sides, but HS coaches are going to side with their guys 9-10 times and other HS coaches will follow.

It's the nature of the beast for sure I agree.

Only the strong will survive it epsecially with a recruiting base like ours. We must win big next year or this starts catching up with us.

The blue shirt thing is going to start being a negative as well. I know last year only one of the 3 actually made it to fall practice.
I find that "intersting"

Unless the MUS coaches realized all along that Hart was a marginal take all along and he was just too naive to "get it" until now. Not saying that's the case, but it's definitely possible.

Ah yes, totally different situation. Whatever makes you feel that you're still right and I'm wrong. What if I told you that actually mine and his situation line up pretty darn well except in my sport we don't get all these pretty shirts? If a coach lies to you and you don't find it out until halfway through the second semester and halfway through your season, that's pretty much just a lost year. Anyway, I won't get into an argument with you. We have differing opinions and we'll leave it at that

We'll compromise and admit she's too good for either one of us. :hi:
