Parents and brother went there. Aggies already have the top two OT committed for Bryce's class. That being said, tough to see him not be an Aggie

If they're so stocked...maybe a courtesy offer because of his family ties? Don't take that the wrong way, not that this kid would not be a phenomenal get but how many tackles do they really want in one class?

I thought they did as well. Looking at 247 and Rivals 2016 commitments for A&M, they only show 1 OT(Greg Little) committed. The other commitment is from a DB.

Lets hope he is not actually that high on the aTm board. We need this kid. Lets hope Mr. Johnson can do work on his friend for the good guys here.

Gonna be a tough battle to pull him away from A&M. That family is all Aggie.

"This one is very near and dear to my heart," Mathews told GigEm247. "I'm very excited about this opportunity. I look forward to getting back down to Aggieland in the fall."

They had another guy (5 * if anyone cares) who plays down the road from Greg Little committed, but he bounced a couple of weeks back. I only noticed because I happened to be on Twitter at the time. Seemed kind of sketchy to me the way it went down. It go zero coverage.

Correct. It was Patrick Hudson. He flipped to Baylor.

I think our chances of landing Mathews are extremely low at this point, but if Butch can land him, he deserves whatever title he wants: Boss, Don, Pope, King, whatever...

I agree. Chance to sign the kid just went way down. Only chance now IMO is if his parents point out that A&M did not choose to offer him till after they lost a commitment from another OT and UT was on him very early. I doubt UT gets him now.

It was fun while it lasted. His o-line coach is an A&M alum/huge fan.

His o-line coach and I assume the guy you are talking about is his dad, Jason Mathews, who played at A&M and then for the Colts and Titans. He has repeatedly said that he wants Bryce to go where he wants to go and that he isn't going to pressure him in any way. I believe that he is sincere when he says that and Bryce and his dad both like UT a lot so this one definitely isn't over.

I don't think it has changed anything. They always expected the A&M offer. Bryce is going to be elite at OT. Perhaps Jason is just being nice about the whole thing but the only team that I've heard that is out is Texas and they like everything about UT. He may commit to A&M today for all I know but hopefully we can win out in the end.

the tAMU offer definitely plays a BIG factor, but his parents can see him play every game easier at UT than at tAMU... add in his friend is now a UT commit, his parents not pressuring him to go to tAMU,CBJ making the mid state a HIGH priority, and I won't be surprised either way in his decision...

You'll be disappointed then. He's going to aTm and it wouldn't shock me to see him commit very soon.

1:45 from Nashville to Houston on Southwest.. Parents can afford it 8 times a season

They could easily afford it that family is royalty down there. Probably land a helicopter on the fifty yard line right before opening kickoff if they wanted to
