I think the athlete production in the future is going to come out of Indy and Summit. The majority of the people are moving to the Williamson Co side of Spring Hill rather than Maury Co and it seems that the newer folks on the Maury Co side, who can afford it, are sending their kids to Columbia Academy. Just my intuition based on the number of CA stickers I see around town.
We're smack dab in the middle of Spring Hill and Columbia, just south of Rippavilla, and our kids (which we don't have yet) are zoned for SHHS and my wife is already begging to get into Williamson Co even though we've only been here a year and half. IMO, Williamson Co will always get the majority of the athletes because so many parents want that perceived higher-quality Williamson Co education.
Nah. Kids from money might go and pay Williamson County taxes. Kids without are going to either be recruited to Ensworth and BA maybe, but the Marcus Haislips and Dante Hightowers and Shaq Masons and Tyler Smiths down there are going to come out of public school systems where they live. Percentage wise, the majority of D1 talent will come from Rutherford County and big privates in Middle Tennessee.
I was just referring to the Spring Hill-Columbia area. I don't see SHHS, Columbia Central or Mt Pleasant producing the athletes in this area. It'll be Indy and Summit. But I agree, M-Boro and Brentwood will be the public school athletes. Ravenwood, Oakland, Blackman are all going to remain as powerhouse programs.
Top quarterback If youre building a 7on7 team, youd better have a quarterback and in Columbia (Tenn.) Spring Hill passer Tylin Oden, TN Grind Time certainly has a talent. Odin has a great frame at 6-5, 180 pounds but he showed off major arm strength and was accurate throughout the day. He holds offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville and Tennessee.
Hate to be stereotypical, but most of the better athletes come from not necessarily middle-class backgrounds that would be able to afford Williamson County. All 3 of those Maury County schools will get their fair share, if not more, football players. Baseball players... not so much. Independence and Summit would probably have the edge in that sport.

Theres so many things, Oden said of his affection for the Orange & White. I love coach Jones. I love what hes doing to that program. I love that its my home state. I love the offense also and the fan base, too.
One staff is undoubtedly recruiting Oden harder than the rest.
Oh, probably Tennessee. Tennessee, most definitely, the right-hander said.
If the rumors with Kendall turn out to be true, I hope we immediately let this guy in. He has good size. He is very athletic. He will need some time to develop, but he will be able to considering the quarterbacks we just signed. It will also make us the team to beat with his brother.
I take Tylin Oden over Kendall especially if Kendall isn't willing to compete with other QB's in the next class. Oden talks like he bleeds orange and he has the size and talent to succeed at tennessee, so give this guy the spot because he is going to be a good college quarterback and he may be more willing to compete.
The cost of living in Rutherford County is a bit different than Williamson. I'm not saying that you aren't partially correct about the growth. I'm just saying that for a certain demographic of player, your odds would be better in the future of finding a prospect in Maury County than it would be in Williamson County.Maury County doesn't have the growth that Williamson County has though. Middle-upper class or not. The reason middle TN has exploded in talent is the growth in the area, that growth is coming in Williamson, Rutherford and to a lesser extent in Davidson County. Maury County, while still growing, has seen its growth regress in the last 2 census cycles.
Both SEC schools and their head coaches (Johnny Majors, Gene Stallings) made strong bids for his services. Stallings could see Ronnie wearing David Palmers No. 3 as he expressed in his visits to Columbia. Pillow went with the Big Orange and had some good games for the Vols. - See more at: Wade, Wantland, Kelly, Pillow, Estep, Oden are tops | Columbia Daily Herald
