'17 CT QB CJ Lewis (Former TN commit 7/23/16)

Kid is recruiting on Twitter!! We can debate what his abilities and film show, but I like that he wants to be a Vol.

I think this kid is going to shock some folks. I think he'll be a very good football player before its over. Plus, he wants to be here! He's all Vol, worked for, and received his offer, and is now recruiting guys like Holloman for us.

I like this commitment a lot and it makes sense to me. We have maybe 7-10 guys committed that I wonder whether the staff will keep once we win 11+ ball games this fall. This guy's not one of them.

Good pickup!

Got that SEC bump. Moved up 19 spots on the position rankings. No. 17 Dual-threat now.

EDIT: Really got to start reading back in the thread before I post. I promise my name IRL isn't Jimmy Hyams.

How many posters that dislike this commitment read his rating vs watched his film before posting a comment?

If all goes as planned, any 2017 QB will not see the field in a couple years after coming to school. That is a very good thing.

This guy seems to have the intangibles.. Can't wait to revisit this thread in 2019 and see how it all played out.

We needed a QB. I really wasn't worried about ranking. I liked Copeland. No clue what he's rated. Just needed to get a depth guy. Kid works.

Not sure about the arm strength but his placement on both long and intermediate throws was excellent.

He has the instinct to do what I believe to be the one weakness in Dobbs' game. He anticipates and throws guys open.

Might have to take any bumps up or down based on commitment as meaningless. Go off what he was before announcing. I mean had they done it mid Sept, fine. At least he's played a couple games. The next day? Just looks very bad.

As for the camps I'd have liked to see Rutgers and Penn St offer. He camped at both.

Recruiting sites are busy and can't see everybody. There meetings are typically more around the top 247, 250, 300 whatever site you want to go by. Anyone else is rarely looked at in depth until a big school like TN takes them. Then they get together to watch their film again and take input from someone that has seen him like Steve W and if they fee he should go up then he goes up. Barton has explained this before.

You think the only people who can have an opinion on a subject are the ones intimately involved in the subject at hand?

We just think it's funny to see some posters on here thinking they know more about football and recruiting than the coaching staff when they probably haven't coached an game of football in their life. You make negative remarks? You get negative replies. Simple as that.

I don't hate anyone here.....it's just I don't worship CBJ nor do i agree with every decision he makes. I dont like....baaaaaa baaaaaa.

I have a right to agree or disagree and share it. Don't like? Ignore me

Maybe I should rephrase. We hate whining. Some love it. They try to justify it as "discussion", but it is just whining, and there is more on here right now than any time since I gave been here. recruiting forum used to be great, but getting to where 80% of it sucks.

Anytime I see someone mention Copeland (or the importance of in state kids) I don't even have to look at the username

I questioned the use of a spot on a qb but he looks like the right fit. Ball out Mr. Lewis we will be watching!
