And then some of you act like because they are 3* and we get them, they are going to be diamond's. There's a rating system for a reason. Sure some ate off the radar, but ask Dooley how it worked out for him. Not to mention all those who say that was Fulmers problem later. Everyone is still blinded by the first 2 classes. We got lucky with legacies and a few in state. Heck, in state and legacies don't even want to come here now. Not that we should get every single one, but still. Yall making it out that 3 stars is OK, will see later. JV can't compete with NFL

The star system is meaningless. The scouting department is key and the bobs are pretty dang good.

Of course but i prefer the coaches wants over where a kid is ranked on rivals. The 5 stars are a duh everyone wants and likes them. The 4 and 3 stars are where the scouting department earns their money rivals has no clue if a 4 star will be better than a three star. Scouting matters trust the coaches this staff has proven that they can evaluate talent.

At this point most of the 17 class haven't been fully evaluated yet. They're still Juniors that haven't played their senior year. Stars matter more after the end of the senior season because generally they're more accurate and have more footage to base their judgements on. Jmo

I never said they couldn't, quite the contrary. I actually like the pickup. I just think it's funny when comments are made about rankings and someone brings up a 1/1000 reference.

Agreed. There is still a lot of football to be played and a lot of camping to be done. The rankings could be very different come NSD.

Yeah i guess jj watt sucks too. Im not saying that 5 stars arent maybe a higher chance to be good but scouting and coaches evals are more important period. All yall do is get on here and whine about butch is struggling blah blah blah. Its may and winning will cure any struggles real quick.

5 & 4 stars are far more statistically likely to find success than 2 & 3 stars.

Teams that win national championships also consistently finish near the top of the recruiting rankings.

All if this is well known and documented. Why is it so hard for some of you?

The Star Sytem is not a guarantee of success. It is a predictor of success.

Yeah there's a star system so they can sell overpriced online subscriptions to goodens like you. Whether they pan out or not has absolutely nothing to do with stars. It has everything to do with coaching abilities. If they don't pan out Butch and Co will pay the price. We will be back at square one again and the sun will still come up tomorrow.

Also, the negavols should keep in mind the fact that Butch is an immoral liar who will recruit over low rated prospects whenever he can, so don't sweat taking a 3* in May.

I fully understand that. Its also may and the rankings will change. Why is it so hard for some of you to understand coaches have their own star system. Its not i dont like 4 and 5 stars and top 5 classes and all that. Its the crying every time butch takes a three star that bothers me.

I'm simply taking on buffoons that make ridiculous statements like "the star system is meaningless"

Not you i havent actually seen you cry about a three star pick up. I do also understnad your point and what i said was worded poorly. It does matter especially with perception. My point is jones may be very high on our wr board and is only a three star we just dont know.

I just think its premature to rate most kids who havent even played their senior season yet.
