'17 FL WR Josh Palmer (UT Signee)

No question Dino Babers and company thought they had a steal when they committed Palmer early in the process.
And they did.
With good tape senior year, the rest of America caught up.
Tennessee is getting another nice sleeper out of Florida as they landed a good RB in Timothy Jordan earlier in the week.
The hands stand out right away for Palmer. Really good ball skills. A legit deep threat because he goes and gets it and he can run.
Good release, gets into his route quick.
After the catch ability, he runs hard too. Seems strong already.
Keep your head on a swivel DBs, he'll block you downfield as well to spring a teammate for more yardage

Why no offer from Fl, Fl St, Miami, Georgia, Alabama?

Just seems strange, that he was about to go all the way to Syracuse.

Do not get me wrong, while I have not watched his tape yet, I saw others have and were pretty impressed, so that is why I think it is odd

Moved there from Canada JR year. So not someone that grew up in the FL system. I'll trust the Penn St and Ohio st late pushes and Dino Babers and say he can play at this level

It's kind of funny that when TN randomly offers a under ranked kid all of a sudden other power 5 go get his tape and follow suit.

Solid gritty looking receiver. Good pickup.

I'm very interested to see how our numbers shake out by signing day. Sure feels like there will be some moving around.

Perhaps Butch has realized that a 3-star in UF is better than most 4-stars in Tennessee.
Seems to me that one of these guys insisting on visiting directional schools got their walkin papers.

I am a complete amateur, but looking at Tee Higgins Hudl film and Palmer's Hudl, I do not see a big difference, especially when you look at the level of competition.

I will, however, easily concede the point that I have personally not watched Higgins play and I have been known to put down my share of sour grapes.

The kid has a nice frame for a WR, but have to say that is hard to understand why any genuinely good prospect, especially a kid from florida, would commit to Syracuse. To say that does not compute would be an understatement--not only a bad football program but some of the worst winters in America. kaboing?????

Also, I have a strong feeling that a lot of "offer lists" are not entirely accurate, for various reasons.

In any case, wish him well of course with the Vols.

He's not really from Florida, though. He's from Canada and transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas as a JR in HS to try and get more exposure for football.

Syracuse was probably one of his first P5 offers and obviously much closer to Toronto than most southern schools.

Just in case no one has seen his film... he has good size and seems like he could add more another 20lbs or so... he has to clean up some stuff... needs to work on his stance and keep everything tight to his body when he is cutting... I didn't see but one move he used for close man coverage... needs to develope some more moves... very aggressive and high points the ball very well... not sure about his speed seem okay not great but seemed efficient.... he gets kind of loose when he runs curls but should be a very good prospect... also seems to take pride in blocking doesnt seem to mind going over the middle... if he works hard then he could come in and contribute fairly well... seems to fit what the typically look for... pretty excited about this guy could be good... sorry about the grammar issues... just trying to help.
