So is dropping a recruit if you can upgrade. Better for everyone. UT gets a player to provide better competition and depth and the lower ranked kid most likely goes to a school where he will actually see the field and get more playing time.

Agreed it has to be done. It sucks but it's necessary. What isn't neccessarry is how much it happens with us. Once or occasionally twice a class is fine but we are WAY beyond that.

Dude that's been my take on this From the beginning. It's a necessary evil that must happen from time to time. My anger is how often it happens which clearly makes it part of the plan.

Maybe but I doubt that would be the case in the eyes of a class that is already busting at the seams.

You always upgrade the recruiting class, if you have the opportunity. If we make a few big hires, and they can bring some studs with them, then Butch will make room.

So it's OK for one or two but no more? Why is ok to let one lower rated recruit go for an upgrade but not 6 or even 10. If it is ok to do it once then it is ok. Just like it ok to wait to let your position coaches go until after signing day so the recruits are locked in and can't change their mind right? You upgrade when you can upgrade.

Martinez and Thig doing a lot of traveling for a pair of guys some think are on the chopping block.

Jancek racked up the frequent flyer miles this time last year. The previous December Bajakian spent December on a plane.

It happens and always will, so go ahead with your angry self. :boredom:

This is an easy response and one that many others on this board have posted as well. If it happens 1-2 times a class it's a unfortunate part of the process where the staff just kept getting commits and ran out of room. It wasn't something planned for.

If they class after class fill up the class months before signing day and start culling commits from there it is a clear plan and part of the process. We currently have 10 decommits in this class with nearly all being culled. That is what I have a problem with and I am not alone here.

Never mind. You don't like it. It's how CBJ does it. It isn't going to change. You pick and choose what is acceptable behavior. It is ok to wait until the kid signs to switch his position coach but not ok to drop him two or three months before signing day with plenty of time to find a new home. You just have to GET OVER IT!

I get it just fine thanks and yes I agree it isn't going to change because it's how Jones does it. I believe it's one reason we are seeing a decline in recruiting. After NSD we will see just how much.

Then stop complaining about it. Sheesh.

Lol. Who brought the subject up and kept pushing with more questions? I will give you a hint....

Couldn't that fall into your "dropping commits is dirty pool" argument? Wait til the kid signs and then switch his position coach? You probably won't agree but some kids want to go to a school for a certain coach. Need to be up front about everything according to your standards.

Why do you think we are declining in recruiting?

Why do you think we are declining in recruiting?

Combination of a number of the things.

1) playing time
2) recruits have mellowed on the slogans
3) nagative media scrutiny
4) family feel from hs coaches and families is lost by all the git shirts

You brought it up when you hypocritically stated that it is ok to get kids to sign LOIs and thenot switch their position coaches. I pointed out that dropping them before NSD is less devious because it gives the a chance to find another home that suits them. Lol.

So let's add switching their position coaches after they are already signed.

Biggest reason is lack of results on the field.

None of the 4 you listed matter one bit if we win 2 more games per season.
