The regulars here say it year after year... "Wait until NSD." Everyone freaks out in April and June, and it's no use. It always changes, and barring a head coaching change, it always changes for the better.
It seems like there is usually a name or two that comes out of nowhere over the next month or so. Hoping for a big DT. Maybe an Owen Williams -type juco player.

Couldn't that fall into your "dropping commits is dirty pool" argument? Wait til the kid signs and then switch his position coach? You probably won't agree but some kids want to go to a school for a certain coach. Need to be up front about everything according to your standards.
It would be dirty but not equally IMO. I think kids should commit to head coaches and schools and not position coaches. Jmo
I am not saying I like it just saying it is the best thing to do.
