Lol

Edit: We don't need to talk about USC and Vanderbilt so much. I think that we will be much better next year. Nobody is ok with losing. But I can't betray my intellect and say those two losses were based only on coaching when a good portion of important players were out hurt. That's not an excuse.

I wasn't trying to demean someone's concerns. I apologize if that is what it seemed like I was doing.

Why not? Those two losses defined and ultimately ended our chances at having a good season. They were inexcusable and symptomatic of other issues going on within the program. The wins vs Florida and Georgia were great until the losses to SCar and Vandy essentially rendered them meaningless with respect to reaching the team's goal.

As far as the bad losses, we had 9/10 of 11 starters on offense and 8 of 11 on defense......and we got shredded by a 5-win vandy team who's average class recruiting rankings the last 3 years was in the 50s. It was clearly much more than a handful of injuries that cost us that game, the SCar and ultimately the season.

I agree with the SC loss. I would put that game more than the Vandy game on coaching. I personally thought that at times the team seemed overly confident with 2nd half comebacks. Also the team seemed really out of wack in the SC game. Vandy beat two other teams it had no business beating. Our defensive injuries showed the last two games. Imo anyways.

So that's it? "Ish happens" in year 4 when you were odds-on favorite but failed badly when you lost to two SECe bottom-dwellers and it's "oh well, that's life", it's no problem, everything's great in Knoxville? So what happens if we "move on" and Jones leads us to 7-5 or worse in 2017.....we still saying "meh, it's all good, just move on"?
Move on means..... It happened and it SUCKS. NONE of us are happy about it or ok with it but, it already happened. We can't change that. Fact is Butch isn't going anywhere this year no matter how bad some people want him gone. It just isn't gonna happen this year.

Now, like Ron said, either butch makes some staff changes and things get better next year or he is gone. It's really that simple.

No amount of whining will change those facts.

-nobody thinks last year was acceptable, nobody-

So either hope changes are made and next year is better or pi$$ and moan all offseason. We already know which option you nancies are gonna choose. Gonna be a long offseason.

I don't think he was an elite talent, but it does hurt due to the fact that he was one of our last targets

I just want to add that I don't think staff changes are the only thing needing to be addressed. Because of how bad things were when Butch got here it's as if the program just started when he got here. Every thing had to be changed. The roster changed. Depth is a huge issue imo. Our depth is so young and inexperienced on the defensive line, LB, WR and other positions. Growing pains hurt but they gotta happen. There's no easy way around that.

I don't understand why some people on here let Tennessee football control their lives. Yea, it sucks we crapped the bed this season but what the hell can we do? Not a thing. All we can do is pray that Jones hires better assistants and stops being stubborn. Us continuing to whine about it is not solving a thing.

If if he decides to accept an offer from Georgia or auburn, that may indicate he's worried about problems at UT. This is a different story.

Those were the two games that defined the season. It's understandable that when discussing team 120 and the job Jones did with it that they're gonna come up. As great as the UF and UGA wins were, those two losses were as bad and ultimately rendered the great wins meaningless. If you're gonna honestly discuss 2016, it's in that context that it belongs.

Once NSD gets here, followed shortly after by the O&W game talk those bad losses will fade and the promise of a new season will dominate. Until then however.....

I guess being called confusing is better than being declared a liar.

Cat wasn't even at the UF game. Well first half I believe. Let us not forget Reid, Butler, and Ignont. CJ out recruited someone for them right?

I was there until halftime. Went back to my grandparents house and watched it with them. Ended up being nice celebrating with the fam
