'17 GA LB Solon Page III (UT signee)

We better keep him period. Hope he doesn't consider de-committing. I think he could become a superstar LB if coached up right.

He is a very good athlete and can get to the ball. He will have to learn to be tougher and to tackle with his shoulder pads rather than grabbing with his hands. Needs to meet runners in the hole rather than down field 3-4 yards. He will need to add about 15 =20 pounds but most will have to do that when they move on to the SEC.He should red shirt and be ready to play hs second year.

Was named GA class AAAAA first team all state.

I think he has the chance to be a superstar at the next two levels(college & pros). I really mean that too when I say it. He has some crazy skills.

I think he can come directly in & start at LB as a freshman. I would be surprised if he didn't as a matter of fact.

I think k Quarte Sapp might make that difficult

He won't be starting over him anyhow. Sapp still has a long recovery anyhow from his injury. I think it will be Kirkland, Smith, & Page starting at LB's.

Wait, I believe we moved Austin Smith to DE but I can't remember for sure. If so, then McDowell will be the other starting LB so it would be Kirkland, McDowell, & Page. Bituli & Blakely can't be counted out but Page I think is better than both of them.

He needs to add weight. He might be able to play special teams, but I think DK, McDowell, Bituli, Sapp, and Jumper will play LB.

Bituli is an MLB, correct? Blakely is now at DE I believe, so Page would have to beat out McDowell, Sapp, Berry and Bates to start at OLB

I think Bituli can play on the outside, especially if it means getting our best LBs on the field. To that point, I think Sapp and Bituli are both more talented than a FR Page would be.

Are you sure Blakely is at DE? I hope not. This is why we don't have any LBs...we keep moving all of them to DE.

Why? Because of what I posted? Don't have any trust/worth in my thinking/knowledge? That's ok. I don't have a problem with that buddy.

SP will take some time to catch up to SEC play. He needs to get tough and learn to use his pads to tackle rather tackle with his hands. He will need to gain 15-20 pounds to play outside and I don’t think he can play safety or CB. He is a very good athlete, with very good potential, but needs to develop physically and mentally to play in the SEC.

Had to bump after being named GA 5A defensive player of the year.

“I’m really just speechless,” Page said. “I’m surprised. Defensive player of the year for the whole class — I mean, that’s a pretty big accomplishment. I really can’t put it into words. I can’t think of anything bigger than player of the year.”

If the decision would have been left to his mother, Page may not have had the football career. “She thought it was too dangerous,” he said, “but I always wanted to play.” Page finally got his chance to don pads when his mother went out for a week’s vacation. It was during that moment as a middle-schooler when Page’s father signed him up for football.

...Page considers his speed and football IQ to be his best attributes. “A lot of coaches tell me that I pick up things really well, even though I haven’t seen it in practice or in a drill,” he said. “I can still go out there and make a play. I think that’s a big part of my game.”
