You went way beyond being critical of Jones. Heck, I have been critical of his in game decisions. I refuse to judge even this class till NSD. You posted over 100 times how bad he is and doing. Leb vol wasn't a numbers thing on why he is gone. He trolled the coaching staff and if you read the board rules then you would realize you are dangerously close to that. A very big difference in being critical and trolling them.

So I'm breaking the board rules for having the opinion that Butch hasn't had as successful of a recruiting year? Meanwhile, you said if I was a dog, I might as well be shot...

I'm not reading through 20 something pages to see if someone has already posted this. Perhaps this thought might calm some of you down who are freaking out. Yes, this is bad timing, but look at it from the perspective of HJ.

Dobbs is here again next year, followed by two 4 star prospects in Sheriron Jones/Quinten Dormady, which gives us time to redshirt and develop Guarantano, and then we're in on Trevor Lawrence in 2018. Where is the playing time for Johnson? I was honestly surprised he committed to begin with, but who knows. There's over a year left until he goes to college.

Not to mention he is a pro-style QB. Which baffles me he would head to Clemson.

Crompton. Doesn't matter though. Guarantano has the upside to be the best QB in college by the end of his time here. He has all the potential in the world.

I would advise to keep the negative commentary to a minimum with Johnson. The staff and that family are really close and it's a long time till NSD for 2017 recruits.

JG has the ability to be a cam newton or Vince young impact on the college game. He is outstanding.

You don't get trashed on here for having an opinion (common misconception made by many) nearly as much as you get trashed for the way you react and get pissy when someone disagrees with your opinion. There are several on this forum like you, who seem to think that having an opinion is a one way street. You make a comment, then when someone responds to comment with their opinion, you fire back about how you are not allowed to have an opinion. It's not the case at all. They are also allowed to have an opinion. In some cases it's that your opinion is stupid. Are they not allowed to voice said opinion?

You can laugh at people for what you think are butthurt responses too, but understand, they are also laughing at you because of what they feel are stupid comments to begin with.

While true, all of those obstacles to playing time existed when he committed to us too. It's not like anything has changed with regards to our current and future QB situation. Couple that with the fact that he was here on Saturday and gushing to recruiting analysts about his relationship with our staff, our commits, and him taking an active role in helping to recruit top talent to Tennessee. Then less than 48 hours later, he is a Clemson commit. Something just doesn't add up.

I didn't say that. I just don't think he fits the mold of your typical Clemson QB. I think he fits more of the pro set QB.

Perhaps if you had just posted that he has not had a successful recruiting year but it has went way beyond that with the post after post after post.

Critical of certain things is one thing but judging the success of the season after three games would be crazy. You are basically judging the success of recruiting before we know who has signed which at this point is nobody. So my reasoning makes sense where in this thread you have made so many asinine comments that it has become silly and completely takes away from any good points you may have made at one point. Don't worry. Asinine is not a dirty word.

It looks like he wasn't being honest on Saturday and was using his relationships with our recruits against us. Perhaps the staff was tipped off that he was recruiting for Clemson and told him to take a hike? I'm just guessing here.

My guess- Dabo sold him on being the next guy once Watson leaves after next year. When he came to Knoxville the next day, Johnson asked Butch if he was gonna be THE guy in '17 after Dobbs leaves, and Butch couldn't tell him yes. Too much talent already here/soon to be here to guarantee spots on the field. JMO.

I'm not sure if Hunter would've seen much playing time here, so for that reason I'm not too concerned. But it sure would've helped build a strong recruiting class to keep him here, so that sucks. Hope Higgins will take the lead here with this class and not bolt with Johnson. GBO.

If he was a16 recruit he would be 5th string here. He is not done jumping around yet. I see at least 1 more commit coming in the next yr to some other school or back to Notre dame before this is all said and done
