'17 JUCO CB Keisean Nixon (South Carolina Commit 12/14/2016)

There could be many things going on behind the scene that we may view losing Nixon as a loss while the staff is seeing as a win. I'll withhold my judgement until I see the whole class on NSD.

It'd be good to know what the VQ or 247 guys are saying about this. I saw where Callahan CB'd Corker to the Vols.

2 Crystal Ball projections for us on Corker today. Funny how one guy who wasn't supposed to commit for a couple days did so to USCe the same day we got 2 projections for the other Cornerback we were recruiting.

He's like the Urban Meyer of recruits. :w00t:

CB picks to play for Muschamp over Jones. Was it really surprising?

Bb in another thread dogging Butch and singing another HC's praise (especially Muschamp)...is it really surprising? With all due respect because you have been a tremendous poster in all of the years that I have been here, but your continued negative posts against Butch is becoming wearisome.

How's it negative? I mean why would a DB not want to play for Muschamp? I'm not surprised by this.....

So instead of even mentioning Butch's name, why not just say that is it surprising a DB wants to play for muschamp? instead, you have to throw the negative slant and add in the fact that he chose muschamp instead of Butch. That is how it is negative. You have been doing this since the Vandy loss. No one in here is happy about that, but only a few continue to post negative comments about everything, including you.

Check it KB last time now so take your adderall and read:

1. Your conclusion is that we cut Cotman for Nixon. Your evidence is Cotman's quote: we are going after more EXPERIENCED CBs, not wanting to start over with freshmen.

2. My contention is two-fold:
a. We cut Cotman because he is not a CB nor does he
project as one. Experienced CBs means ones who
have played in high school at least but NOT NECESSARILY JUCOS.

b. If we cut Cotman because of Nixon, wouldn't an
experienced recruiting staff such as ours wait
until Nixon committed before cutting Cotman?
Nixon flashed on our board very recently, in fact
it may have been after Cotman got the git but I
would have to timeline that. You do not cut a
player you may have wanted for another before
the latter commits. This staff has no history of
making those errors.

CONCLUSION: The two are mutually exclusive. We cut Cotman regardless of Nixon. We want CBs who play CB and are projected to play CB, Who are tall and know how to make a play on the ball. We have 4 committed now lets go get Corker.

The Defense rests...on its laurels.

We dropped cotmanbc we wanted a Juco CB to play immediately (as tho those guys always work out)
And that didn't happen. So now we are on plan C.
So... we won?

Or, we could have told Cotman that so he could save a little face. That way, it doesn't look like we just cut him loose to get someone better.

Block user posts..... that would save you all a lot of trouble. Everyone that's liking all of his posts should follow the instructions of blocking me. It's a negative spin to mention names now. Hilarious...... Anybody that has a son that plays DB would send him to Muschamp over the current Tennessee staff. Track records speak volumes.

Dude, we know Muschamp and TRob are very good DB coaches. Why do you have to continue stirring the pot about it? You have been more than just throwing names as a negative spin for the last 3 weeks. We get it...we are all frustrated with this season, but we can't change it now. Just have to hope Butch can take a LONG look in the mirror and see the exact changes that he must make to take this program to the next level.

I'll stop here. As I said, Bb, I have respected you as a poster for years and your opinion, but you don't have to continue being negative to get your point across.

Okay look. I am tired of all of the negativity myself (some has been warranted, some has been excessive), but I am going to defend BB here.

Outside of Cam Sutton, what CB at UT has Jones presided over who has been a lockdown, or even very good CB? Some have had moments of showing their raw talent, but mostly I have images of our guys getting burned stuck in my head.

As much as I despise Muschamp, he knows DBs and develops them very well.

This time, I think the comparison and use of Butch's name is warranted and relevant.

Just my input is all.

Now, with that being said, does this seal the deal for us getting Corker seeing as Wade is seemingly going to PSU?

We ALL get that the secondary was awful last year. Every last one of us get that.

The difference that we are trying (in vain) to get some folks to understand is that you don't have to constantly keep harping on it. We all already know. Just that some of us aren't dwelling on it but are looking forward to see what staff changes are made to fix the problems. IF no changes are made that would be very bad.

So I'm not gonna sit here and mock the coaches and complain about every commit or non-commit. Lots of moves to be made and the hay is not yet in the barn.

In the mean time, we still need to get all talent we can on board.

I have zero expectations of that head coach directing Tennessee. I don't even know what day the bowl game is. When he beats Bama or Muschamp(really Bama) I'll support him. Until then I'll mind my business.

I would never send my kid to play for that psycho. He is an idiot that has already failed at an easy program to recruit to.

Bye. We will see if there is room for you on the bandwagon next year when we tear up the SEC and if there is you can't bring Muschamp's dirty undies you bought off EBay with you.
