'17 LA RB Trey Coleman (UT signee)

Not really sweating this one. 247 has him ranked the 913th overall prospect and 42nd best player in LA. He is definately LSU bound if they offer but I think we can do better at RB anyway.

Ummm why would LSU want the number 913 prospect and 42nd in their own state? If they do, doesn't that suggest to you that Butch and Staff may actually know what they are looking for in a recruit and he may be able to actually, you know, play at a high level because they can evaluate talent?

There's ways to fix it. Staff just has to make some changes. Mend some fences.

I agree to an extent; if it's a kid that's looking himself so you're not left high and dry. But for example, I don't think dropping someone like Page is excusable simply because Coleman may drop us. Coleman takes a visit; consider him uncommitted and fill the spot with someone else comparable if you want.

Is there anything you have heard that suggests that LSU wants Coleman? They have not made an offer. If Coleman was a great back LSU would be all over him.

DefinItely not sweating your opinion that we can do better...but I think that your brain can do better, at spelling anyway.

Nice job, the grammar police are holding a position for you. I'll give you a reference. Nice article on Trey. Still think Chandler and Akers are going to be better SEC backs but everybody loves an underdog and I would love to see Trey have a great season.

Still holding it down.

From here on out can we please put an asterisk with the words "Unless LSU offers" beside all of our so called "commitments" from Louisiana?

I'm a fan of honoring a commitment. IMO this one is different in the kid has made it publicly clear he's only a Vol if LSU doesn't come calling. We just shouldn't have taken him so early.

Agree. I don't think LSU will offer though. His offer list and ranking are average

Honestly, it wouldn't matter to me. If as a coach I read that quote, I'd have made 1 call to the recruit to confirm he said it. If he did, the offer is pulled and good luck to the young man. I wouldn't set myself up to get burned on NSD eve. Lots of quality backs out there.

Crunch, you really should go into coaching. If you're half as good at it as you think you are, you wouldn't need to renovate hotels for a living anymore. And you'd have less free time for Volnation, so everyone wins. :)

I'm retired now. Told myself at 35 I was done. So coaching? I got time.
