Stephens had to take a back seat to Lewis who was rated higher. He did make the most of it when his turn came though. I thought Garner was rated much higher coming out of Juco.

Garner was rated a 3* by most recruiting sites coming out of Juco. Stars don't mean anything and doesn't define a player's success in college. If that was the case, we wouldn't even have the starting lineup that we have now.

For all the star gazers out here... The NFL all-pro team is made up of mostly 3* and below every year. Oh and alot of our BEST players were 3*'s... but 3*'s suck, We'll be luck to go 7-5 with half our starters being 3*'s smh. Fire Butch!

I don't agree with the guy you are taking umbrage with, at all. But there is a reason there are more 3 Stars in the NFL.

jack allen, Carl Nassib, Tyler Matakevich, Desmond King, Jeremy Cash, Josh Doctson were all 3*'s or worse and all made first team All-american.... When you include 2nd and 3rd team theres ALOT more 3*'s.

Oh, I know theres ALOT more 3*'s... But the fact that theres more 3*'s and lower for the All-Pro team is pretty impressive. I wasnt just saying more 3*'s in the NFL in general

Agreed.

Again, there is a reason for that.

FTR - 3 Stars play an important role in roster construction. It's about finding the "right" 3 Stars, though.

CBJ has been great at finding the right 3*'s, idk why people keep doubting him when it comes to recruiting.

We have had 2 top five classes and the 15th rated class over the last 3 years. You don't get classes rated that highly by taking a lot of 3 star players. Jalen Hurd is our best player and he was a 5 star recruit. Don't get why some people make it seem like we have a team made up of 3 star players.

Jalen Hurd was a 4 star, not 5 star. We had one top 5, one top 10, one top 15. We didn't have 2 top 5's lol. Half our starters are 3*'s lol. You obviously don't know what you're talking about

Tennessee signed 12 3*'s in our 2015 class(ranked top5, #4 to be exact)) and signed 16 3*'s!! In our 2014 class that was ranked top 10(#7 to be exact), and signed 11 3*'s last recruiting class ranked #14....

Cause we do have a lot of 3* players who are now in the starting lineup. So you mean to tell me you only care about class rankings instead of the player's ability to make an impact on our team regardless of their ranking? Class rankings doesn't help win ball games the last time I heard. We have other great players like Hurd who were ranked way lower than he was coming out of high school which I wouldn't trade for any other player right now. There's been plenty of 5* busts who didn't live up to their ranking so to answer your question, you're wrong.

Hurd was a 5 star recruit. He missed all of his senior year with an injury so he may have got bumped late in the process.
