'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

Perhaps they view him as more athletic than Chase though? A higher ceiling given how raw he is at the position? More frame to add weight and develop as a blocker and/or receiver?

Just throwing some possibilities out there. Like I said, it's puzzling.

Could be in guess but Chase is a much more proven commodity. Regardless if they are moving on from Chase they should man up and tell him rather than take easy road and hope he gets the message.

Totally agree. You'll get no argument from me on that front.

I don't post much but I wanted to say it has been a pleasure reading your posts. It's given some insights into a world I will never experience and it is fun to read your thoughts and opinions on the matter. Where ever Chase goes a will cheer for him and I hope to be cheering for him 10 years down the road in the big time. You seem like a great father and wish you both nothing but the best. If you're ever in Orlando I'll will buy you a beer.

I want to second this sentiment. Wherever Chase ends up (hopefully in Tennessee Orange) I'll be rooting for him. I appreciate you allowing us a close up view of the recruiting process, and the way you've handled yourself on the board. Thank you!

I never said Chase can't block. I said if I want to pick a weakness that he doesn't have it would be blocking. He had 20 pan cake

I think it's hilarious when parents sort of threaten the fanbase that their kid is going to decommit.

Personally I think it's smart to take 2 TEs because Tennessee will probably lose 2 or more. Croom is a senior and I'm sure one of the lower classmen will leave.

The only way brooks ever plays is at tackle. He needs to be taken out of the equation

I don't think it was a threat at all. More a parent of a commitment saying our coaches have given them reason to question their current status. Chase obviously has some great options. I also get the sense playing at UT is the preferred spot, but our staff is putting doubt in the kids/parents minds.

That's it fire butch I'm over it... the kid committeds best off is holy f****** cross Rogers is way better. This sucks.

I really like chase and hope we keep him he is something i think this offense could really use especially with a better passing qb. Just curious if they have mentioned anything about a new oc to you? I feel like debord is a huge problem.

To put a cap on this subject. They have been in contact with Chase but it has slowed down. Last week when Scott was to be St Chase's game was a red flag for us to protect our interest. Red flag 2 is not responding to not one but 2 text. Red flag 3 is taking another TE which I think is a good move. A really good TE adds to the offense. Let's make it clear. We are not giving up on Tenn, just going to protect our position with other options. LSU looks like our next option soon... If me posting on here bothers the coaches. All they have to do is tell me.. It's all in communication.. Thanks again!

They really don't care about us. Glad you were able to use VN as a sounding board...hope we still end up with Chase.

That's kind of splitting hairs though. I never suggested he couldn't block either.

Like I said, don't take it personally. I like Chase as a player, but the concerns I listed were just things I could see as being possible hangups leading to the lack of communication, albeit inexcusable. You're emotionally involved so I don't expect us to see it the same way. My apologies if you were offended.

I am happy for him and know how excited he is to get this offer. I think his is very talented. Just a hard for me to understand how he is rated baically the same as Chase with only 7 rec for 101yds as a TE compared to Chase 207 rec. 3539 yds and 43 tds... The system is flawed.. I think he should be rated at this level but Chase should be a 4star

Step back from the keyboard.

I am sure it is. But if you gathered that.from.any.of.my.post.then.you.need.to read them again.

You seem like a nice guy. You really do. Take some free advice: get away from message boards that discuss your son. Almost NO good can come from a parent directly interacting with fans. Trust me, I've seen it here for years.

100 times this. I've suggested as much to other parents because it never ends well. Jabari McGhee's family in the basketball forum for example.

Slender for 238

Your son has a good frame. He could be a solid 250 with his same burst.

Those stats are nothing to sneeze at either. He's dominating competition... which is all he csn do.

He moves very well. And he's a player that is used to catching the football.

Also, he may not end up even in the SEC, that doesn't mean he won't be an outstanding college TE. Or PRO.

Like you said. Trust God. Stop demanding from Tennessee's coaches. Let them contact you back. Meanwhile, look around the country and see who uses TEs well.

More than likely he will participate in an All- Star game. And dominate during practice and the game. As long as he stays focused. Don't let negativity take hold. You both have worked to hard for that. Play the long game.

Good luck.
