'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

Just looked into it. He has only 7 career receptions for 107 yds. He does look good on those catches. Chase has 47 straight starts and almost 4000 yds

Why would there be any hard feelings if an apparently lesser (experience, talent, size) TE recruit committed to UT? If Chase is good enough, he'll beat him out.

You don't have to sell me on Chase. I think it would be a huge mistake to let him walk.

Can't say I blame y'all. Good luck wherever you end up, hopefully here though because your kid has potential for sure.

What does Chase's dad posting here have to do with a lack of communication from the coaches?
Some on here now think our staff is just dumb or being mean, when in reality this happens to multiple kids in every recruiting class at every school.

Breon Dixon at UGA is a good example.

Tim Hart last year for us. Jerome Dews.

This isn't an uncommon thing. And some on here are freaking out and asking questions about Jalen Hurd to his dad. We need to sack up as a fan base.

Yeah posters are being dumb, but it's not like it's having a direct affect on anything other than how dumb they look.

That's fair. It makes us look desperate tho. If we took this new guy over Chase, then that's the coaches' decision. Seems like that is what happened

247 Sports now has him listed as a hard commit to us. The date was 10-30-16 so it seems official to me or they wouldn't have put that up on his profile page. Thanks!
Still haven't seen an article from 247, scout or rivals confirming it. This seems to happen at least once every cycle. Kids "commit" without the go ahead from the coaches

“He was excited,” Brown said of Gillespie. “He wasn’t really expecting me to commit. He was just warning me the whole time about how other schools are going to come, and he said, ‘Just keep us in mind.’ I was like, ‘I already have you guys in mind. I’m going to commit to you guys.’ And that’s when they went crazy. They were all happy and stuff.

“They said they were looking for an athletic tight end — not a guy too big, a guy that can block on the perimeter and that was fast — and they said I fit that role perfectly.”

Seems pretty cut and dry. Unless he's stretching the truth. Also went on to say he may OV for Tennessee tech because the coaches want him to and he's on a bye.

I am happy for him and know how excited he is to get this offer. I think his is very talented. Just a hard for me to understand how he is rated baically the same as Chase with only 7 rec for 101yds as a TE compared to Chase 207 rec. 3539 yds and 43 tds... The system is flawed.. I think he should be rated at this level but Chase should be a 4star
