Send a simple text to the coaches.
Be transparent. Ask them if their recruiting of another TE changes anything.

Seems simple to me. If you are COMMITTED then you aren't looking at other schools. If you are looking you're not committed. Period.

If the school is committed to the scholly then they should be able to answer that question. If they can't answer that question clearly and honestly then they aren't committed. Reopen recruiting.

You referring to it as a "scholly" leads me to believe you aren't taking it very seriously or you are not who you say you are.

Either way I wish Chase a great college career wherever that may be.

The very least this coaching staff could do is have the decency to reply to a text telling him what his status is.

This reeks of dishonesty here. Considering how they cut committed kids who would want to play for these idiots?

With Brooks moving to OT, it now makes sense why they are taking 2 TEs in the 2017 class. They should make great additions for Team 121.

Let me say it again, we want to be at Tennessee. We are committed and still solid. I agree adding a 2nd TE was needed. All we are doing now is opening up other options. If Tennessee could promise our spot then we would not be looking. Go Vols

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but have you heard back from Scott that the staff can't promise the spot to Chase?

Y'all need to give the man some breathing room. Quit with the negativity and rampant speculation. He will tell us what he wants to tell us when he wants to tell us. We should feel grateful for the level of detail he has provided so far. Let's just continue to support him and his son. I know from my perspective, regardless of outcome, I will view him and Chase as part of the Vol family. We have gotten a detailed view that most of us could only hope to experience as parents. Thanks Rock and I hope everything works out, i do hope to see Chase in orange and white on Saturdays!

Please give this dad and family a little privacy and space. I will follow and support chase no matter where he goes. This young man was raised right.

Always keep your options open. JMO because recruiting as you know can be crazy. Love UT and hope he comes here but you got to have what if's situations to be prepared for.

Rockachaw has been 100% class here as far as answering respectful questions, which mine was. I'm not hounding him, he is free to answer or not as he desires. My feelings aren't hurt either way, but as long as he is communicating with us, I will engage in the conversation.

Not questioning the credibility of anyone but this situation send odd being that Chase is obviously a talented tight end so no communication with a key recruit just baffles me

My 2 text I sent him asked that very question. Very nice stateing I am fine and understand the process. Just need to know where we stand. Nothing back... Chase has still been getting 1 a week down from 5 a week. Chase is in a group text with 20 recruits. They discuss this within group so he knows what the other boys are getting. Some more and some less. It can fall apart quickly. Chase will spend a entire week with Cam Akers and Jordan Murphy at all star game. If recruits are unhappy they talk with each other about positives and negatives of each schools experience. So we are actively looking with activity from LSU, Texas, Miami and Tx AM. What else can we do? This sums it up. Going to take a break until Saturday morning update on Chase performance.
