'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

If as a mentor to these guys you feel the situation at UT with the OL is really bad and Willie Martinez is not really that good and share that with these guys, it certainly would not help UT. Are you wrong if those are your true feelings and they ask you, probably not. However, if you don't think as a fan of the school and the players knowing that, it doesn't hurt UT, then that part is wrong. Pittman is a good coach. Coached at NC and they are an OK program sort of the same as Arky. He was at UT when UT as a program really did suck. He may be a great recruiter and a good coach but the programs he has been associated with have never come close to a NC.

Do you think UT has a ton of talent and about to win big like most of us hope and think? If so, try going with the positives and helping out the kid and UT. When UT is winning, it is a great place to play football and graduate from with a degree and be set up as a VFL if you take advantage of the opportunity. Sell that a little instead of how great it is to have Pittman as your coach. We are about to see a few Vols OL's be drafted in the next few years. Tell them about that. With the struggles we are having in the mid state and with you telling us any riff is old news, we have to wonder why none of the top kids are committing OR even leaning toward the Orange.

This is why so much concern about the area and what is happening is a worry. The germinator trains kids and is always talking up UT. It's ok to be a homer some saying good things without being negative about other places. You can still let them choose while talking positive about UT. Some coaches do need to go but I see the OL doing very well and hope to see the same progress with the wide receivers this year regardless if it is Azz or Jones or whomever actually responsible.

Not an attack on you but maybe you can see why some with the orange glasses on would hope you could put them on a little bit at times as well. GBO and GO VOLS. Win this year and big time players will want to play at UT regardless if they are from here or not.

I never degraded anybody, but don't come for me when I bring info because a person's only objective mindset is all UT or we didn't want him or he was paid. It's all the "can't accept the truth crowd" who feels everything UT is gold. Well it ain't and there are pieces that need fixing but that doesn't stop me from helping where I can or giving info relayed to me from coaches. There is no advantage of my info it is what it is, "info". I don't beg anybody to believe me ala WICKMAN.

You like to point the finger, but it appears like you can't take criticism yourself. Go back and read some of your posts to yourself. I hope you can then see the connection between my comments and your condescending attitude.

This is a public UT message board. All boards similar to this one, never mind the school, are going to be filled with ignorance and extreme bias in support of the respective school. Someone in your position I would think knows this already and would be able to more reasonably deal with it. Rubbing it in those individuals' faces won't fix anything, so you may need to rethink your position or just learn to bite your tongue. I would hope that you know or assume that rational, logical UT fans understand that UT isn't the "end all be all."

I think some of the issues that we may be having in the mid-state area is very similar to what Georgia deals with in the greater Atlanta area. The mid-state area has blown up in population with transplants just as Atlanta started doing in the 90's. Kids may have grown up in other areas, and their parents either played or rooted for other teams. Therefore, playing at UT, is not always playing at "home." UT is just closer. Not sure about the others, but Stevens and Wray grew up in other areas.

Georgia has had to overcome this somewhat as there are plenty of UT ties (and other SEC schools) in Atlanta.

So, are we close to figuring out who can pee furthest?

THIS. De1Conley, you are kinda being a Richard right now. How can YOU not understand something so simple? Get over yourself please. Bring info if you have it or want to, but you are not better than anyone else because you have said info. If you wanna talk down to someone, well...."How big a boy are ya?" :eek:lol:

Jacoby Stevens grew up in middle Tennessee, went to church with him when he was a kid in Antioch. I see de's point here, some of y'all like to post bs when you don't even know the facts. I even saw one of y'all say his family was hurricane Katrina refugees. I'm not even his family and I was like wtf.

Inside info, insults, weaves and fades... It's gettin downright amusing in here...

If dude is such a big deal, why does he argue with idiots like us on message boards?

No Sh!t, some people need to check their prism. If you paid close enough attention to other message boards you'd find something offensive to the same recruits and/or parents. If you need a safe space to protect yourself from speech you don't agree with, then stay the hell off message boards. We BS, speculate, make conjectures, and generally bloviate about college football and UT. Its what we do.

Pretty sure I read an article where he was quoted as saying he was originally from Louisiana and has family there. I am not saying he grew up there until high school. It is very comparable to some of the players we have gotten who have ties to UT or the state and never grew up in TN.
