'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

This place will be on suicide watch if Smith doesn't pick the Vols today.

Yep, college recruiting is the funniest thing. Grown folks getting all bent out of shape over the decision of a high school kid that has never proven anything and doesnt owe anyone anything.

I'd be shocked if he picks TN.

Both Bama and Ohio st had their head coaches.

Where was Butch? Recruiting our coveted 3 star?

Interesting that DeBord, Mahoney, and Thigpen were all there.. (which are potential candidates to be fired apparently)

I don't follow recruiting but I follow instincts

You should try following recruiting because your instincts are rusty.

Trey just had his OV this past weekend (Dec 2). He's in the bag. The staff is on the road all last week and this week. Martinez may be fired, but he's been on the trail recruiting in LA with Gillespie last week. Azzani and Scott have been all over FL. CBJ is there today to see Reid (Ft. Myers) and Johnson (Miami). He'll see Reid then head to Southridge just south of Kendall for Johnson. It's the rush before the dead period, so all the coaches are making that push because they won't be able to leave the campus for a while.

Oh, and turn in to College Football Live at 4:30 today to get your smile on!!!!:)

This is a great day for Tennessee Football. Enjoy it, and don't let your hate for the HC ruin it for you. We'll finish strong.

Reckon I'll just record College Football Daily and College Football Live

"Trey Smith, the number one overall player in the ESPN 300, will be making his college announcement live during ESPNU’s College Football Daily on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. ET. The offensive tackle from University School of Jackson (Tenn.) has offers from more than 20 Division I programs, and is expected to choose between six schools: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee."

This is who will be blocking for JG in the future.....

Who is the two on the left and two on the right? I can't see the pic that well. Plus I can't put names to faces on the oline lol.

Is that Tatum to Trey's right?

Cautiously optimistic that these newest vibes are correct. I was ready to bet on Ohio state a few days ago. Glad I don't have money on either side at this point. Huge day!

GBO!

Anyone think landing Trey would generate momentum toward us for other great players in this class or 2018? I've always viewed Trey as a very well put together guy, very smart and even keeled. I'd probably try to play with him.

Gonna be a good day. Landing Trey helps with Akers btw

I would think that top QBs and RBs would want to look at the school where the top OL for the year is going. That is good news.

ty (that's the extent of my acronym language :) )

Yes. Should help close out the '17 class strong as well.

It's hard for me to get excited for this potential commit, which is unusual, bc I don't trust this 8-4 staff and don't believe it will make them better coaches and developers.

But if he chooses the BO I will be glad for the kid.

December 7th - After committing to Tennessee, Trey Smith drops in the rankings due to poor footwork and technique. Now rated as the #291 recruit, #31 OL in the 2017 class.
