'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

BB I've been here for years. This is the first time I've felt this bad about a class. There is some freaking weird nonsense going on when you can only get one of the Tennessee top 10. It makes no sense whatsoever.

If you think you follow recruiting but don't get stressed about it, you aren't following recruiting. You are waiting to see who ends up on the roster for future seasons. Getting stressed about it is the fun of it, and really the point in staying involved. Otherwise it wouldn't be a billion dollar industry.

I agree kirby selling at uga what butch did for us we have to win or recruiting will get very hard to get alot of elite recruits. Title 9 hurt us alot in my opinion couple with under performing. Remeber saban went 6 and 6 then 10 and 2 then national titles abound we r not doing that we r u jusowing improvement not on same scale. I know they had more talent then when butch got her but sill

Is this...on...purpose?

I swear if it's clemson...

Barton just threw up an article on CU 247 about Clemson and Smith, let see if he does the same on TNs.

Edit: He did, said Butch is doing all he can to recruit him.

On the CU article, he did mention Rodgers and Higgins.

Hope UTs proof of clemsons cheating is very good proof. Something is very wrong here. It's like Clemson has become the Auburn and Alabama if the Acc$$$

Lol. Seriously?

Apparently OV mentioned that UT sent some info to the AA about a handler request money for Tee Higgins' commitment. TIFWIW. OV isn't usually a flippant poster though.

I know this.... We don't know if it true or not... What we do know is that they are an elite program right now, and won't be going away anytime soon.

It makes perfect sense if you think about it. There are high expectations for the Vols this year. Higher than they have been in a LONG TIME. So I believe that some recruits are in a wait and see mode. Oh and there is that whole lawsuit thing. Its over now but it definitely had an impact.

Yeah, but they aren't a team that has had a lot of cachet in the state, like Bama in Memphis, or Auburn, which somehow has a lot of sway with Middle TN private schools. These has stood the test of time, and numerous coaching staffs.

It's curious how strong they are here so fast.

So I guess Ole Miss, Bama, and Auburn are innocent as well?

IMO every major CFB program is dirty in some way or another. Some are just better at it. And some, like Bama, have friends in high places that shield them from any major consequences. I think it may be time for Tennessee to step up its cheating game.

Hell I'm all for it. If the other elite programs are doing it, we have the right to do it too. We all know Butch has class but he might need to step up his cheating game. Especially in the SEC.

Totally agree. I mean we know those teams you listed are notorious cheaters. Why should we be any different? If it leads to bigger recuits, more wins and championships then open up the checkbook. Scrw the moral highground.

We've been doing it. Its just usually capped well below a lot of these rumored figures that other schools are tossing around. People think a friend of the program just pays whatever its going to take to get the recruit. That's not the way it works currently. A value is assigned to each situation. Once offers hit that mark, on to the next.
