'17 TX ATH KD Nixon (Former UT commit)

KD got caught up in the moment. 17 year Olds make irrational decisions. Hope the best for Nixon.

It gets more fluid every year, fans better get used to it. Commit means less and less.

Honestly this kid would've never been a tk per my sources. This was a bad look on Azzani because at 5'6 he's not SEC caliber anyway. Can run a nice 9 route but he just wouldn't be a good tk. At the Rivals 100 Challenge he was ineffective except on a few deep balls. All other times he was bumped off his mark and routes.

Thanks for the info, I did not know he struggled at Rivals challenge.

I tell myself if our staff took the word commitment more serious it would trickle down to the recruits valuing the word and respecting the idea of being committed more.

Take Clemson for instance. Its public knowledge that Dabo views a commitment as you're done. I haven't read much about him yanking offers unless you take visits after committing. People say it won't work here at UT. Dabo seems to be making it work.

Wish him all the best. Was hoping he could bring the kind of production Pig Howard did because of the mismatch opportunities. I hope he ends up somewhere that will use him effectively.

I liked him as a returner maybe even more than in the slot. 5'6-5'7 190 going full speed and no fear hidden behind those blockers? Yup.

Do you like any of our coaches?

This kid is in my general area. I had been looking forward to catching a game this Fall.

Rivals nor KD knew it either, lol, people crack me up :thud:

Wide receiver KD Nixon had a big impact on his team and helped lead them to the title, -Mike Farrell AT the Rivals challenge.

Rivals now says Nixon is a soft commit...they said if he gets an offer from Oregon or Baylor...he's gone. Lol.

Well, he'll get a Baylor offer. They'll be offering 2* guys before all the bodies are buried there.

Regarding Oregon, they beat Tennessee 59-7 3 yrs ago and it could have been 80-7 if they'd wanted to. Today Tennessee would be favored on a neutral field. Which program is on the rise?

It was a points competition. We were there. I ga e him credit for what he did well and that's what I'm supposd to do. He's not SEC caliber bottom line but I'm not going to argue with you.

Little guys like that typically do really well at 7on7 events. From what I read he played well, but didn't really come on until the end (where he had several TD catches).

KD is a good prospect with a ton of versatility but hes not Trendon Holliday. The questions marks around his ability to play in the SEC are very real. Look at RDA IV and his impact. Both are similar players but RDA IV couldnt do much in the SEC, even as a senior.

Think KD will be productive wherever he goes, hopefully he chooses a school that knows how to get him the ball. If I were him Id be taking a hard look at TTech.

Right, because Tennessee is the only team in the country that recruits over other commitments.. :dunno:

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Its the business at hand. You can't be stagnant in the SEC so things will be like that everywhere except Ky and Vandy

You "tell yourself" a lot of things. Fighting hours of loneliness and despair. In between the orderlies coming for you during internet time. :loco:

If commits aren't loyal on their commit don't commit you said

If staff aren't loyal on their commits don't accept their commit I said.

Get it yet?

So you have set yourself up with the position of -
If the coach doesn't keep a soft commit, it's a dishonorable coach.

If a recruit doesn't keep a soft commit, it's a still a dishonorable coach?
You're entertaining.
