We shouldn't be in a spot to pressure elite kids because we are full of marginal ones in the name of spots. It's simply.
Exactly. There is no law you have to oversign to the max every year in the name of quantity over quality.
Watch this kid end up at Florida, now.
Cut ties with one of the receivers that's an academic liability. I love Murphy, but we know Conliffe can get in but we don't know if Murphy will. It's an easy decision for me.
What? Take a WR commitment in place of a DT that will not give you a commitment yet? Makes zero sense. Talk Payton into taking a blueshirt. WRs are a dime a dozen. Championships are won and lost in the trenches...talented HS DTs must be a take all day every day! The only way that I see this move making any sense is that Conliffe actually told them he is going elsewhere.
Better to have a spot for another big time DT and miss. IMHO JMO GBFO

Here here what I been saying absolutely stupid....this staff mak we should me scratch my head do they want to screw around or are they serious about championships. U have a 3rb that everyone says is marginal. U have Elite dt hmmmmm...this is just an example
While Conliffe may end up being elite, I find it interesting that Bama, who only has 2 D-lineman committed, has basically passed on him or is holding him at arms' length. Bama needs D-lineman desperately too and it's obvious this guy is down their list. Maybe there is something more to Conliffe being passed over by Bama and possibly UT?

Butch is about to royally screw the pooch here.
You make the decision. Let's say we have 1 spot left. What do you do if Conliffe calls on Tuesday and says he wants to commit to the Vols and LaBryan Ray has not made a decision yet?
I see people griping about numbers. This week, we took a commit from Josh Palmer because we have just 6 returning WR's and the 3 we have committed for 2017 all have academic concerns.. We also took a commit from Tim Jordan because we only have 2 returning RB's and needed a 3rd in the class. Would you prefer to only have 4 RB's going into 2017 or risk having less than 10 WR's in 2017?
Is it still an option to drop someone with 5 or less days till signing day? Do we really want to risk the backlash from that?
