'17 VA DE Elijah Conliffe (Florida commit)

So sounds to me like the spot left (a player blue shirting) is for Ray and could also go to Conliffe depending on timing and finding out what Ray is gonna do.

Before Palmer committed we had 2 spots...1 true spot and 1 spot to be created by blueshirting a commit. Once Palmer committed we went to 1 spot available that can only be created by blueshirting.

So Conliffe could still end up a commit but I am thinking it may depend on when he pulls the trigger and how we feel about our chances with Ray.

You are the expert! :) (Thanks)

So I could definitely see all three being blue shirt candidates. If all three blue shirted, what would our current number be?

We literally had this discussion yesterday in the "Numbers" thread. Should I expect the same question around this time tomorrow? :) You want first names too? Vitals? Anything else I can do for you?

I think they would blue shirt the kicker too..

I wonder if they are already blueshirting to get to where we are at.

Maybe Fant isn't the one they are thinking of blueshirting. Or maybe he already is going to be a BS. Along with Calbert or the kicker.

Also, I avoid the numbers thread. I am afraid CrunchyLeb may show.

I don't know which one of the recruits that have grade concerns have not been on official visits or been visited by coaches. This would be an important detail to factor in. But, the way Hubbs made it out, that they were not cutting anyone loose for Conliffe this late in the game. He used the words "After a little digging" so that told me that it came from the staff.
Perhaps. But, I think it's rare for college coaching staff to share or leak significant detailed recruiting info. They may talk about how confident they feel about a recruit, but I think that's about it. Reporters generally talk to recruits, their parents and HS coaches. His digging was likely based on info originating from those kinds of sources.

I checked. That was just a drive by at 6:30 in the morning. Was half awake.

To answer your question (if you're awake now :)), I think a full class is 26. Using the 3 guys listed as BS would allow us to take up to 29. But that's just by my numbers. Others think we can't back-count any.

According to Jimmy Hyams we can't back count any. So if we blue shirt those three we have room for two more?

It's situations like this that make me hate the recruiting process. These kids have had years to consider their college choices and those who want to play the "control" game and wait until nsd are affecting the lives of others who have made their decision and been loyal to the school. It would serve them right for all their top choices to move on and they have to settle for a lower tiered team that still has a spot. I know that ain't happening, but it's what they deserve!

Wouldn't it be ironic if Ray chose UT and Concliffe ended up at Bama because a spot opened up for them?
