He stuck with us over USC when they came calling with Helton. This actually makes sense that he may not feel Helton is real committed to him. And Helton may not but was trying to keep him because it is so late in the game to be looking for a QB. Always tough to get two really good QB's in the same class. As long as we hold onto our Penix, then everything will be smooth and easy. It will feel so good.

What difference does it make? Both are still a plane ride away. That's like saying Tennessee is closer to England than it is to Germany. Once you surpass a certain amount of distance, the amount itself is fairly irrelevant.

I would say we have a better shot with Fields or Emory Jones than Lawrence. The only thing we have with Lawrence is that he's committed here before, and he doesn't have Hunter Johnson to compete with here (once again, thanks Butch).

Not a shock

He had pretty much opened it up without officially saying as much 10-12 days ago when Frost offered. He has even referred to having a decision to make, presumably between the two. This is possibly just his way of being fair to both schools by signifying that he is truly open.

Obviously, it can't be taken as a good sign, but it may not be as clear cut, gloom and doom as some think.
