Wow, forgot about him. WR is the one position I'm not worried about on offense.

I think JG with a proper QB coach/OL protection could start the whole season. I just don't see how Chryst has enough to overcome JG's short and long-term potential.

the challenge for chryst is the long ball. he's not proven to be a big play maker, though he has had a few with his legs. Chryst has a really good intermediate/short throw game. JG has a nice long ball. not sure which one wins out. i do think it'll be telling if JG can't win it given the head start he has with the locker room, playbook, time w/coaches etc..........

i'm hoping he does. that would be best for the program over the next couple years. i think if chryst wins the job outright, then we have a big problem at QB. best case, the competition is close, and it makes JG better.

Exactly. A freshman WR has looked better than his 3 star rating in summer workouts? I gonna book my flight and hotel for the NC game!

Your point is valid but I remember rumblings about Cam Sutton and Derek Barnett looking better than their star ratings, Their first summer on campus. Not a given that the kid is a baller, but him standing out early is a good thing.

JG was a RS freshman on a bad team that quit. Performed modestly
Chryst was mediocre to bad on a good team

Much easier to give the benefit of the doubt to the young, inexperienced guy on a bad team

Chryst was 11-2 as a starter. If that's "mediocre to bad" and JG is better we're in great shape.
