Not sure what losing 50-0 and a rival committ throwing a Vol hat has any connection whatsoever. Especially when its HS kids who aren't even in college yet. You honestly think that a kid considers what happened the prior yea,r at a school he's never even suited up for into his announcement decision making? My money is on him probably not basing his actions on that.
Dooley was a train wreck. But that statement is simply not true. He went out and GOT Justin Hunter, Da'Rick, and others in the 2+ weeks he had. It wasn't Kiffin's class. Dooley pulled that off.
I hated Dooley, but his first recruiting class was more successful than Pruitt's will prove to be. I expect Pruitt to be a much better coach and actually develop players. But we're all lying to ourselves if we say Pruitt has surpassed expectations thus far. This coaching staff was sold to us as a recruiting juggernaut.
Honestly if someone wouldve told me that we would have a top 25 class with all that went down this off season and the coaching search I wouldve been surprised.
I think what ended up happening was that we got our hopes up with a lot of the guys who showed interested who we ultimately didnt close
Dooley didn't do that. The revisionist history is running rampant today. This board has a great search feature if you need a refresher
what did you expect, and why?Da'Rick Rogers - 5*
Justin Hunter - 4*
Jacques Smith - 4*
Raijon Neal - 4*
Dave Clark - 4*
Eddrick Loften - 4*
James Stone - 4*
All 4* or higher that committed in the 2 weeks Dooley had to recruit.
Thus far, in about 2 months, Pruitt has pulled 6 4* guys. Dooley also didn't lose a 5* guy from Knoxville.
Pruitt will be the better coach. But recruiting has not lived up to my expectations. Has it met yours?
I have no idea what to expect all I know is recruiting rankings wise this BY FAR the best talent has had to work with on offense in years
QB question mark but its Mullen so i know at the very least we see improvements from week to week
WR loaded with diverse talents and and decent exp as long as Van is good to go him Toney and Cleveland is extremely exciting group esp if Mullen uses Toney like Percy

You're still not remembering correctly. Outside of Stone the big names were already done by Kiffin and staff (Hunter, Nash package deal, etc). Dooley simply had to get hired and not screw it up. Pruitt had to get rid of some that Butch thought were worthy and then try to forge brand new relationships with guess who knew nothing of UT. The program was also on a completely different teakettle until Dooley blew it up

Learn your history instead of making it up based on ranking

Remember when Dooley was hired on January 15 and then pulled a top 10 class?
I'm looking forward seeing how this coaching staff COACHES, because so far, they haven't lived up to their hype when it comes to recruiting.
