'18 FL WR Jacob Copeland (Florida signee)

If we get Copeland, ITS to go with Peterson, I'd call this class successful for CJP. It was a hard row to hoe.

Copeland or ITS. Would be a major upset at this point to get one of them & a COMPLETE & TOTAL SHOCKER TO GET BOTH. Looks like neither though

GO VOLS!!!

Tough, tough day

Not sure what losing 50-0 and a rival committ throwing a Vol hat has any connection whatsoever. Especially when its HS kids who aren't even in college yet. You honestly think that a kid considers what happened the prior yea,r at a school he's never even suited up for into his announcement decision making? My money is on him probably not basing his actions on that.

No I'm saying how are our guys going to send a message when their heads are getting smashed in.

Dooley was a train wreck. But that statement is simply not true. He went out and GOT Justin Hunter, Da'Rick, and others in the 2+ weeks he had. It wasn't Kiffin's class. Dooley pulled that off.

I hated Dooley, but his first recruiting class was more successful than Pruitt's will prove to be. I expect Pruitt to be a much better coach and actually develop players. But we're all lying to ourselves if we say Pruitt has surpassed expectations thus far. This coaching staff was sold to us as a recruiting juggernaut.

When did getting two recruits to add to a solid class already count for a whole class? If Pruitt lands ITS or Copeland to go with JJ he did an oustanding job. Especially how Kiffin at least made contact with 5stars and big boys. The connections were there. Butch decided to battle NC States, Memphis type teams and would only go after 5 stars nearby or that already liked UT. Pruitt had some work to do. Also UT was 7-6 vs 4-8... Lots of bad press, not history of winning in the last 10 year's vs 2 yrs removed from Fulmer winning.

Honestly if someone would’ve told me that we would have a top 25 class with all that went down this off season and the coaching search I would’ve been surprised.

I think what ended up happening was that we got our hopes up with a lot of the guys who showed interested who we ultimately didn’t close

Exactly right. Those of us who have followed recruiting for several years now, should have known better. We were never going to sign a top 10 class.:)

Dooley didn't do that. The revisionist history is running rampant today. This board has a great search feature if you need a refresher

Da'Rick Rogers - 5*
Justin Hunter - 4*
Jacques Smith - 4*
Raijon Neal - 4*
Dave Clark - 4*
Eddrick Loften - 4*
James Stone - 4*

All 4* or higher that committed in the 2 weeks Dooley had to recruit.

Thus far, in about 2 months, Pruitt has pulled 6 4* guys. Dooley also didn't lose a 5* guy from Knoxville.

Pruitt will be the better coach. But recruiting has not lived up to my expectations. Has it met yours?

I have no idea what to expect all I know is recruiting rankings wise this BY FAR the best talent has had to work with on offense in years

QB question mark but it’s Mullen so i know at the very least we see improvements from week to week

WR loaded with diverse talents and and decent exp as long as Van is good to go him Toney and Cleveland is extremely exciting group esp if Mullen uses Toney like Percy

Dude, we don’t care about Florida. You are on a Vol board. Log off, and go to one of your gator boards to talk about your team with them. Thanks and bye.

You're still not remembering correctly. Outside of Stone the big names were already done by Kiffin and staff (Hunter, Nash package deal, etc). Dooley simply had to get hired and not screw it up. Pruitt had to get rid of some that Butch thought were worthy and then try to forge brand new relationships with guess who knew nothing of UT. The program was also on a completely different trajectory until Dooley blew it up

Learn your history instead of making it up based on ranking

Jacques Smith commited the year before too.

If my memory is right, Rogers was a big and unexpected addition that Dooley was credited for

HG Malik Langham all we got to hope for now

After Gouriage and Copeland he’s the one I wanted most

Chatfield at OLB speed rushing QBs and Langham with the big body at 3-4 DE both seem like good potentially great fits for what Grantham likes to do

Vosean and Chatfield could be very good together or maybe Reese

Houston and Miller too now they back we pretty good at LB

Remember when Dooley was hired on January 15 and then pulled a top 10 class?

I'm looking forward seeing how this coaching staff COACHES, because so far, they haven't lived up to their hype when it comes to recruiting.

Remember when there was no early signing period then and when the majority of players signed this year? Kind of limits your options. Even worse when there was no or very little relationship with TN and most of the new recruits JP had us in on. Remember that??

Who cares? UGA is going to destroy both of us anyway. Gators are least of our worries anymore. Georgia has become my most hated team. Horrible fans, and now that the are somewhat relevant that puts them over the top. Uncle lou is one of their better fans and that says alot.
