Biggest individual recruiting loss to date for Butch. Not even close.

I'm gonna be honest. I'm not that disappointed with this kid not coming here.

I watched a few interviews with him and he doesn't come off as confident or having leader attributes.

QB is the only position you gotta look at more than physical tools. Guys like Dobbs and Guarantano exude a swagger and confidence that says they can be trusted to lead a football team.

I didn't get that from Emory Jones.

How can anyone be surprised? He did everything but take out a billboard after FNL. He paid us the courtesy of taking one last visit before making his decision. He wanted to play somewhere else, and he handled it with class. Fans should do the same.

We are a team on the rise in the SEC that has a good shot at being in Atlanta, all the recruiting resources at our disposal, and we keep offering and getting commitments from these low rated recruits with horrendous offer lists. I get the disappointment there for sure and how bad it looks in-state (it's definitely his 2nd biggest loss since he's been at TN IMO), but no way do I consider losing a WR bigger than losing an Elite QB. Kids gravitate to elite QB's.

Thing with Jones is there still is a chance he doesn't end up at OSU. If Georgia doesn't land Lawrence then they will turn there focus on Jones.

Jones can publicly say OSU is his "dream school" but to some Georgia is really his dream school. If they turn the heat up watch out.

Still think there is a chance we land him. Watch this fall to see what schools he visits and if he can make it to OSU for some games. If not this is when distance will factor even more in this recruitment and could turn the tide in our favor

It's a combination of a few things.

1.) We don't have a lot of early playing time to sell to recruits like we have the last few years.

2.) We don't yet have a history under Jones of competing for championships.

3.) Jones doesn't have a reputation of putting a lot of players in the NFL.
