I think a big part is that Smart has made keeping the top GA prospects in GA a priority. Richt was getting some, but many were leaving state. That isn't the case right now.
It's GOT to start getting better though. If we're gonna start being contenders then it has to happen. We can't allow the top notch talent like a Tee Higgins or Trey Smith go play their college football outside the state at another school. We MUST keep those type recruits playing in Knoxville.
A bunch of good players this year have committed to out of state schools. They have over 30 4-stars just about every year. Even South Carolina has landed three 4-stars out of there already. We have 4 commits from guys rated well outside the Top 50 in the state. We have never had a class out of there anywhere close to being that bad.
I agree, but I think fewer of those guys are leaving state now. They can't take all of them obviously. As for why we aren't getting the few that are leaving, I don't know except to say there are fewer leaving and maybe more legit competition like USCe and Muschamp.
Maybe we should have just taken all the instate guys right Leb? That would have made this class great since Tennessee is chock full of talent.
Ah, we didnt want him anyway. We are in on so many better QBs. Dont worry though, I am sure we can find the Cam Sutton of Qbs. 3* QBs win in the SEC ALL the time. We are fine.
