Nothing to back this up, but I think the QB battle this year is going to have a big effect on QB recruiting. If JG gets the job as a RS FR, we might have a harder time signing guys who aren't looking to sit 2-3 years.
Or if JG wins the battle he may only play 2 years, so the 18 QB could see that the staff gave the nod to the RS freshman and think he could travel the same path. Sit one year then start as a sophomore or RS fresh.
