'18 GA QB Justin Fields

Okay I am confused. He doesn't look to have played, at least there is no stats, for his sophomore year. How would any school understand his ability if he had not played much prior to his junior year?

This is a perfectly crafted anti-Tennessee story. And you're trying to ruin it! :aggressive:

I see a lot of Adrian is better and would take him over any QB in this class.

Remember Adrian had shoulder surgery on his throwing arm, right? I know he says he's expected to make a full recovery but it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

I think Adrian is a baller. The biggest complaint about him is that he doesn't have a strong arm, but he's accurate. If his arm wasn't strong already, hopefully the shoulder issue doesn't make it worse.

Heaven forbid that TN didn't know who the backup Hs QB was when they were 15. Smh all these teams he is looking at now didn't bother to offer him until recently. Way after TN somshut your mouth papa fields

He may be as good as everyone thinks - but the coaching staff at where ever he ends up had better be prepared for over zealous parents and possibly a player with a big ego that will need to be constantly stroked.

I know players can blossom late but most really great HS players are starting and contributing as sophomores. He apparently wasn't. So no way any major college knew who he was at that point.

To be honest, Adrian looks like a Marcus Mariota clone. Running, smart decisions, good arm(not amazing), surgical precision type accuracy.

If Fields was treated so terrible why did he come back to visit 2 more times and had us as one of his top schools before committing to PSU? 🤔🤔🤔

Meyer doesn't know a 4* that's committed to him, nobody cares.
UT's staff doesn't know a sophomore who hasn't even started a HS game who doesn't even have any offers and people should be fired?
Weird

Always two sides of every story.

Butch and staff made my kid feel like a VIP as a Sophomore kicker that had never seen the field. That was a camp that we paid for.

Fields dad needs to back away.

Sounds like a dad that has been trying to do some secret dealings and UT showed him the door immediately. Now he is being salty in interviews when given a forum to have a public audience. Justin has never had a negative word to say about UT or its staff in interviews. Dad wants attention and special treatment. See examples of this every year.

First, there is no way that any staff can roll out the red carpet for every 15/16 year old that comes to campus. Not going to happen and you shouldn't expect it too.

That said, staff should always be courteous to any guest. Should be warm and inviting to any guest, just like your home, because that is the message they want to portray, you are home. You always want people to feel welcome in your home, heck, I'd even Butchna in my home and make him feel welcome.

Brian rice is calling the whole thing fake news on twitter. He was on staff at the time and says it isn't true

It's crap.
If no one is recruiting you and you're not even starting yet, it be the same as me showing up or calling and asking for attention. He would have been treated the same by every major university. But then single out UT for offending them.
Whatever the guy's actual problem is, it has nothing to do with the reasons he gave.
They can take that ish elsewhere, like Hurd or Pwill, not worth the time regardless of talent.

It's pretty dumb. Hey my son is backup QB to another QB being recruited in sEC but you better treat him like a king even though you never seen him throw a pass. At that time Fields was about as known as a peewee football player
