It's not unusual for coaches to bounce around. It's the nature of the business. Most coaches are looking for the next best gig or a way to advance their career. Position coaches want to become coordinators and coordinators want to become HCs. For what it's worth, Pittman is telling OL recruits that Georgia is his last rodeo. Normally I wouldn't buy that line, but in Pittman's case I think there may be some truth to it.

Coaches tell recruits anything to get their signature.

I would not buy that with him being only 52-53. Just a good line to use in spreading your message.

Hey let's all be friends. We aren't really going head to head on too many recruits this year or next currently. Lawrence for Jones, Gibbs for Stevens, fair trades. Can't we kumbayah and hate Flurdah and Bammer together?

Ps- whatever happened to LebanonVolunteer? That guy knew his stuff!

This has been a paid endorsement for lebvol, aka crunching the balls.. Uhh I mean vols..

Course...cuz it pertains to YOUR team. :w00t:

Nah...it pertains to my age. I'm 55 and there comes a point in life where you want to stop chasing the next best thing...so I can relate to Pittman saying Georgia is his last stop. I would have picked a school closer to the beach for my last stop though:)

6 different stops in 12 seasons is definitely not the norm for an OC. That's ridiculous.

From 2007 to 2011 he was at North Carolina. In the summer of 2011 UNC HC Butch Davis was dismissed due to NCAA violations...and a new staff was brought in under Fedora.

Pittman was hired by Dooley at Tennessee for the 2012 season. Dooley was fired after the 2012 season and Butch Jones elected not to retain Pittman.

He was hired by Bielema in 2013. I seriously doubt any recruits are going to hold it against Pittman for leaving Fayetteville for Athens in 2016. Georgia is a much more fertile recruiting ground and Athens is consistently ranked as one of the better college towns.

I suspect most O-Line recruits and QBs will be more interested in the fact that from 2012-15, a Pittman-coached offensive line has led the SEC in fewest sacks allowed—three years at Arkansas and one at Tennessee...

...and since 2013, eight offensive linemen coached by Pittman have been drafted, including two first-round picks.

I was talking about Chaney, bud.

Spelled correctly now. Not sure why I thought it was with an e.

My gut feeling is that Florida is going to end up working there way into contention. Will likely be a battle to the end.

Yea he's not going to UF. All things considered they are probably the best option but that's only keeping them in the conversation. He's on record stating that they are 6 hrs away compared 3 hr or so for his other top schools that's why they've only gotten one visit.

It would completely shock me if UGA doesn't land him Tenn/CU coming next.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard those comments from him about Florida. His recent comments seem to imply he thinks he has a better chance of playing early at Florida...but he also says he thinks he can play early where ever he goes. He definitely does a good job of keeping his true feelings under wrap.

Mahoney actually hasn't done that bad of a job. Some of us believe Debord deserves all the credit for improving our O-Line but you also have to give credit to Mahoney. Our O-Line has gotten better every single year considering it was a long process. We are doing just fine without Pittman.
