Yeah....probably not more than three or four steps, and I'm pretty sure they don't time those steps.

Steps cannot go outside the circle, so it's like running in a small circle, without running. Spin move he called it. Not sprinting nor a 400 meter kind of motion. More like winding up a top to let some of the energy go flying off in the shot. I could go on, but I think I won't.

but, you start at the back of the circle and release at the front of the circle right? Ergo...forward motion...even if it is in a circular manner.


We can all agree it's not timed though right?

One of the nations best shot putters is NO joke.. Requires a lot of strength and explosiveness.. I went to hi school with a guy that held the TN state record for shot and discus for years. One of the strongest dudes I've ever known.

Once you step into the circle, you have 60 seconds to take your throw or you're dq'd.
