'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

I’m hoping Saban sticks around and disappears into oblivion Joe Paterno style.

I hate Alabama but I don't wish the Penn State scenario on anyone. A lot of people were permanently scarred in that.

I'd like to see him go out like Bobby Bowden. Bobby had about five to six years where his teams just weren't that good. I suspect Nick won't decline so rapidly or if he did then he'd probably hang it up.

Yea I wasn’t wishing sexual assault in my post there... more was implying age and starting to suck at his job.

Pat Dye never went home to UGA and Dooley never went back home to AU. I thought I read they both had the chance but declined.

I hate to say it but you all are insane if you don't think Pruitt doesn't go to Alabama when they offer, post Saban.

I've literally went from wishing Saban would hang it up, to hoping he sticks around long enough for CJP to get us "back." And then fingers crossed the next AD hires the right guy.

But yeah.... Alabama kid, transferred to play at Alabama, cut his teeth coaching in/at Alabama. And sadly, it's just so much easier there. Better local talent and in Alabama they treasure football and a winning culture, whereas a lot of people around Tennessee resent the football program and don't care about their success as much. I know that to be true becaue MIT Beaver told me. :)
Ray Perkins says hello.

Had a chance to hear Vince Dooley speak back in January. He said he was about to accept the AU job and when they sat down to tell the kids young Derek threw a fit and didn't want to leave. So they decided to stay. He was pretty interesting to listen to.

I live in Greenville. Dabo is a God to the people around here. I find it hard to believe he’d leave now that he has Clemson rolling even better than Bama
hot take prediction:

Dabo is out of coaching all
Together in 10years.

I see his faith as being something that leads him away from coaching soon

I’d bet a years salary the next coach at Bama is either Dabo or Pruitt

It wasn't all that long ago people actually thought Dooley was going to.leave us for GA.

Pruitt hasn't proven anything yet. If Pruitt turns the corner, I could see a scenario where he went to bama, but right now he hasn't won enough for that job. If he gets it really rolling like dabo, he probably wouldn't want to leave what he built.

If saban retires in a few years and Pruitt is just starting to turn the corner, we probably lose him.

I'm certainly not worried about it right now.

Not gonna lie. I will be pissed when Pruitt leaves. No matter the circumstances
First real football coach we have had since Fulmer.

His aggressiveness and defensive playcalling is phenomenal, as is his development of defensive players. He clearly understand recruiting, as he has put together a staff of elite recruiters.

He addresses coaching deficiencies very quickly, then fills those vacancies with great coaches. Players that he has coached seem to love him as well.

He is still very new to being a HC, but he has all of the tools to be elite.

If CJP becomes to us like Dabo has been for Clemson - he will not be going anywhere. He and his family are happy here as is the school and fan base with having them here. The pocketbook will open up as success grows - just like they proved with Rick Barnes. Phil has given him a good start at this and will be there long enough to have the program on solid ground. CJP has an opportunity to be a legend of the game at UT. He would be following a legend of the game at Bama. How does that work out the vast majority of the time?

Pruitt will stay as long as Fulmer stays. I pray that Saban doesn’t retire the same year as Fulmer or we are screwed.

Can we chill? Pruitt is recruiting well, yes, but good lord you all are already crowning him as Saban’s successor and he hasn’t even won 9 games in the regular season yet.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about the future, but talking about how he is likely the next coach at Alabama is crazy talk.
Yep we have to beat Alabama, Georgia and or Florida first

Agreed. I like how things are looking, but less than a year ago some fans were ready to move on from Pruitt after losing to Georgia St.

Let's hope Pruitts desire is to build his own program and hopefully by the time Saban retires he'll have a roster here that compares to Bammers. If he can stay consistent with what he's been doing he'll get there.

He's showing right now he can recruit the same level player here that he could to Bammer. He still has a way to go, obviously but the train is moving now.

How do you all not understand that some people like to build things themselves? They want their own legacy - following something is just becoming a part of someone else’s legacy. A thing we are preaching to a lot of our top recruits right now. Pruitt isn’t building this up and leaving for Alabama. Some of you always want something to worry about because things are good.
