I wondered how long it would be until this started with recruiting going well.
If maurer would just play smarter he’d be the starter. So many dumb passes this season. JG is the opposite but he plays so scared. It’s sadhonestly I don't see a reason to take him barring you have a talented freshman who will start at some point whether game 1 or game whatever. JG is atrocious but Bailey, Mauer, and Strout are all young and need an opportunity before bringing in anyone else that could cause Bailey or Mauer to leave. The other 2 are salvageable being that they'll get a commitment from Salter in the near future

Salter is the TRUTH
Lmao tyler was an idiot. Can’t imagine how good he would’ve been with Kiffin tho. Day 2 pick at worst. How far off do you think we are from competing for the East? I’m still thinking 1-2 yearsI doubt he could beat out Bailey but yes his risk taking is the downside of Mauer, but Chaney coached a real risk taker head case in my guy Tyler Bray who was as crazy as they come.

Facts. JJ was special and Callaway was solid af. I think Palmer can be really good but he needs help. Hopefully Keyton and one of the freshman (I’m thinking Hyatt) can help. Need brandon johnson or velus Jones to be solid.with competent qb play we can compete next yr. Qb play has been our Achilles heel for a long time. Even with Dobbs it was an issue at times. But this yr my only concern is will we be good enough at Qb and Wr to get over the hump. I trust Chaney but not so much the Wrs and TEs. The OL and Rbs will be in every game, but the passing game will be the once season cranks up
Any truth to Chaney isn’t very high on HB? I sure hope this isn’t true but if it is at least we have a very options. HB has the arm forsure and he seems to make all the throws on his films. I will go on record and say the next Tom Brady lol
Bump....just because...and to give anyone who has anything else to say about JG to get it off their chest..![]()
Yeah I ask myself often why we would ever want to add another 5* QB to the mix, really dumb idea imohonestly I don't see a reason to take him barring you have a talented freshman who will start at some point whether game 1 or game whatever. yup. it's one of the most maddening things about TN football the past two years. "i love JG!!! GBO"...2 plays later "damn, get him out of the game and never let him back!!!"
The replay of the Gator Bowl was on this morning. SMFH watching the first 3 &2/3 quarters. That’s all I’m going to say. I root for the kid to succeed because why shouldn’t we? Damn if he doesn’t make it really hard to almost impossible sometimes to see him leading us to a win over a big time opponent.

I hope this doesn't come across as condescending, but I just don't understand this kind of logic. Mauer and Strout have shown flashes, but neither has convinced me yet that they are the QB to get us back to a championship level. As good as I believe Bailey will be, I once thought the same of JG and other past UT QBs that didn't pan out. On the other hand, Daniels has already shown that he can compete at a high level.honestly I don't see a reason to take him barring you have a talented freshman who will start at some point whether game 1 or game whatever. He’d need to win the starting spot or plenty will cuss him taking a spot out of the 21 class.I hope this doesn't come across as condescending, but I just don't understand this kind of logic. Bring in as much talent as you can, let them duke it out, and we won't miss those who transfer because they weren't going to play anyway. Even if both Maurer and Strout transfer we still have JG, and if Bailey doesn't beat him out, I don't see him transferring immediately. Plus, we will continue to bring in top talent to replace what we have lost, as evidenced by Salter.
If Daniels doesn't win the job, then whoever does win will have benefited from the competition. It's a win on all fronts.
