'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

Not really.

As I see it there are a number of very very vocal anti JG guys that also are very very vocal supporters of CJP. Pruitt has had plenty of time to replace JG and IF he’s a bad and it’s as obvious to everyone he’s that bad as these posters come here day after day and tell us then surely A coach worth his salt sees it as well. Imo you can’t come here day after day talking About how obvious it is JG can’t play QB in the league and yet support CJP fully.

So In other words your sayin Pruitt is one hell of a PR guy in a sense!..doesn’t want to hurt any feelings?...me respecting JP is solely on the fact he is the head coach at the university of Tennessee and he has a contract here,JG doesn’t.People in the “know” on this forum have expressed how frustrated the players and coaches were with JG during the season.that escalated after the Bama game to the point JG apologized to the whole locker room.he’s never been on record doing that in the almost 4 years he’s been here.so in a sense you could argue it was because of JG’s attitude as to why he’s had his problems but to be quit honest with you Pruitt was extremely lucky with how the season turned out for him.pruitt could have just as easily been on a hot seat coming into this season (not by Fulmer but the media).no other coach has ever handled a QB situation the way he did last year and if you can name one then I’ll let this thread die!...but Pruitt is only going with JG because of experience
(in game) that’s manageable, not that he’s any better than the other QB Because he isn’t at all.

Sure you can, by acknowledging that JG may be the best of a lot of bad options. Maurer and Shrout may not have been better options because of their youth, inexperience, injuries, etc., even if they were more talented. I believe Pruitt is a fine coach, but I don't believe he is infallible and I don't believe JG can effectively play QB in the SEC and get us to another level of success. He is extremely limited, timid, and slow to process, and Pruitt is limited to the QBs he had/has to choose from.

He’s had plenty of time to replace JG. We will see if he does this year. If he doesn’t replace him then he believes in his ability or failed in the process of replacing him. He’s now brought in 6 QBs and maybe a 7th since he came aboard.

It's hard for me to blame him for either of those games last year.

The offensive line was flat out terrible against Georgia state. Only allowed 3.0 years per rush, and 4 sacks and I'm fairly sure the interception he through was also because he got hit as he threw. That's unacceptable and had nothing to do with him. The defense also gave up way too many points.

BYU literally wasn't his fault at all. He did what Chaney called, he was efficient when he was called to pass. They had like 17 seconds to go the entire length of the field, and without the worst blown coverage of all time, we win that game. He doesn't play CB as well as QB.

People will always find a way to blame him for everything. There was plenty of blame to go around those first two games, and he certainly is at least partially responsible for it, but there was way more problems than just him. He showed he was clearly our best option last year. Might change this year, who knows. Guess we'll find out
He didnt play well against Ga St like most of the rest of the team.

He was pretty bad against BYU. Chaney spent half the game trying to figure out how to hide him until the game was over.

UT has to get better in a lot of areas. QB is one of them.

But we did drop those two games. And inconsistent and just downright bad qb play was a big reason. He will lose you at least two other games where he just snatched defeat from the jaws of victory

Tee wins this battle and we have a legit shot at Atlanta this year not 3 years from now

Serious question. What are you using as proof that this guy is automatically better than JG?

Well then, you’re opinion is terribly fallacious and, therefore, not worth serious consideration.

Sure you can...if he believes JG is the best candidate for the team to win, you can disagree with him and still fully support him as a HC. These absolute lines in the sand are so Bruin. 😏

He’s brought in 6 QBs. If JG is SO BAD then Pruitt sucks at recruiting and developing QBs

Real HC’s never stop adding talent.

He didn’t RECRUIT him and he had one year of DEVELOPING him when he played last season. Are you even trying by now? 😉
I agree with that thinking for his first 2 years. This year that’s out the window though. That’s why it’s all on CJP this season regarding the QB position

So why you already yapping about this means that and that means this? Premature interpretation.

As obvious as it is for many posters here that JG sucks surely he can’t screw that up
Bow to the consensus or face consequences? That’s not who we hired. Even when there was doubt that he could outmaneuver other coaches in-game, many (including me) admired that he didn’t toe any lines from the blowhards. Doubt he changes and I’m glad.

I like it finally a poster willing to call out Pruitt for this entire situation.

Seems pretty simple to me.

1) trust Pruitt to make the call and support whomever is under center even it it’s JG

Or

2) like this post says come flat out and challenge the manhood and decision making of our HC. If he makes the wrong call it’s on him.
#2 has always been it for me. I never trusted much of anything Dooley or Trumpet Blower did. I have a lot more faith and trust in this coach. At the end of the day though, he will still get criticism for bad decisions. Comes with the job.

Bruin, do you say dumb things to stir the pot or is it a natural gift?
