19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

So you can purchase an item you don’t need, but only if it’s an impulse buy?

I’m certain both of us own non impulse, non-need based items
You described impulse buying. Spending $300 on a body armor vest isn’t based on impulse. It’s not a candle from bath and body. You buy it out of fear or with malicious intent.

You should read what I said again. At no point did I mention impulse buying. I simply mentioned buying things you don’t need. Not all of those are bought off impulse.

But once again, why does the need matter? Should we only be allowed to purchase items we need?

Gun ownership is not correlated to homicide rates. Body armor is a defensive item.

What justification is there to limit either?

You should read what I said, actually. I said you described impulse buying.

Gun possession directly correlates to gun violence. 😂

I’ve pissed away a whole lot more than $300 on an impulse buy more than once.
So you admit that you don’t always have great judgement and when you try to label someone else as an irresponsible voter it should be taken with a grain of salt. Ok, glad we cleared that up haha

It does not. South Dakota for example is top ten in gun ownership. They have the least homicides in the nation. Illinois has very low gun ownership and very high homicide. Maryland also has very low gun ownership (top ten lowest in the nation) and yet is top 3 in terms of homicides.

And no. I described buying things you don’t need. At no point did I mention impulse.

I wouldn’t call them irresponsible voters but more of solicited morons.

Body armor is a defensive item.
Defensive items which are increasingly being used in the commission of violent crimes.

Lawmakers are aware of this reality, and in the state of Tennessee, it is a felony to be caught wearing body armor during the commission of a crime.

I'm not trying to wade into the gun control debate, but im curious about one thing. I've seen several comments on here about overmedicating children being part of the cause of this. Is there any statistical data being relied upon for these assertions? Do we know how many of theses shooters were on Prozac or Ritalin or whatever other drug is supposedly causing these kids to go so wrong?
not a study, but good article from a physiological pov

come on. That's not stopping one person from doing whatever it was they were planning.

That's impossible. I have it on good authority that American's lack access to care.

No I think what he indicated is his walking ‘round money and spending pain threshold is likely much higher than yours. Apparently so is mine. Probably more indicative of an income gap would be my guess.

Well thank God we are going to pass a law to address it.
