19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

But as you pointed out those actions to make it easier to purchase and carry don't apply to this incident so it's hard to say he's made things worse.
I can't say that he's made things worse... but that press conference made it clear that he doesn't have any ideas of what to do, to make things better. Abbott looked pretty helpless in that presser. All of his "solutions" are in the abstract.

People are mainly pizzed at the clear targeting of children by the LGBTQ movement. I don't care what 2 grown adults do in their bedrooms. But leave the children alone and don't be out here advancing LGBTQ lifestyles to children.

How hard is that? That is the primary source of most people's outrage.

The fact that this has to be explained to people is sad. I dont know anyone....not 1 human being...that cares what 2 consenting adults do in their bedroom. Leave the kids alone though. Homosexuality is NOT normal, if everyone was a homo the human race would go extinct. I dont want to hear about your sex life regardless of which adult it involves...and my kids WILL NOT be brainwashed with this mentally ill bullsheit gender Dysphoria and any fictional sexes other than the only 2 whìch actually scientifically exist: male and female.

If yall want to be delusional , thats on you. Do NOT attempt to shame normal people for not playing along with your imaginary pronouns etc. People have no shame anymore.

Why would anyone issue teachers a firearm? It should be voluntary, the same rules that apply to people with CC permits walking beside you in the grocery store would apply to teachers with CC permits.

The phrase “school issued firearm” has nothing to do with it being voluntary/compulsory. It has to do with ownership of the firearm.

Either way, it has nothing to do with whether arming pedophile groomer/statutory rapist teachers is a suitable solution to the problem, but then you already knew that.

I would suppose a teacher would then be no different that anyone else. OTHER ARMED TEACHERS! Are you that bone headed?
Lol. Right so is going to be like the video games you play where the good teachers have a blue arrow over their heads and the bad teachers have a red arrow?

Of course it's not a solution to the problem. The solution is a multi-year, sacred cow killing, feelings hurting process that has nothing to do with additional restrictions on firearms.

I have absolutely no idea what this response has to do with me, so I’m going to go back to assuming that you have nothing of value to say.

You responded to me and I agreed that arming teachers isn't the solution. The solution is always ignored for the reasons I listed.

Texas Lt. Governor nailed it when he said that trying to fix the problem when people are upset is a bad move.

Bunch of overly emotional people in here throwing out terrible ideas and then acting like crybabies that not everybody is willing to overlook the fact that their idea is terrible.

Wow, I agree with you for once. Miracles do happen every once in a while.

I think the issue in Chicago is a cultural one. These kids are raised without a sense of right or wrong, many perpetrators likely come from broken homes where there's no one to teach or impart moral lessons. There's no hope to get ahead and many are mired in a gang family that has no reverence for the human life.

I think there's a distinction of causation between that and some like the crazy ass whackos who shoot up schools, churches and movie theaters.

Ever think there should be something like late life "abortion" where whole communities get vacuumed out, shredded, and made into fertilizer? That might be the only way the gang problems in several cities are ended. The only other solution seems to be to put up walls and furnish them free ammunition, and let the gangs end it ... may have to shoot the survivors, and then bulldoze the place and start over.

Here's a fun Chicago story for you, BB85. Gang members involved in a shooting were released without charges. Why? They were deemed "mutual combatants."

Chicago violence: Prosecutors reject charges in deadly gang-related Austin shooting

"But a police report framed the state's attorney's office's decision to decline charges in a different light: "Mutual combatants was cited as the reason for the rejection." Mutual combat is a legal term used to define a fight or struggle that two parties willingly engage in. "

Wouldn't that be a duel, and I think those are illegal.

I don’t for a minute believe that there’s an easy solution just laying around out there for people to implement, and I think the reason no real solutions get implemented is essentially the same. People don’t agree about a solution. Also, we lose interest in these stories too quickly, and have made it political suicide for representatives to try to find common ground.

Why can’t we all just agree that the idiots that perpetrate these shootings are all nucking futts and the focus needs to be on identifying people who are nucking futts? 🤷‍♂️
... but you can't involuntarily institutionalize someone until they have either brought harm, or threatened to bring harm. to themselves or someone else. Unfortunately, a shooting spree is often the first such episode ....

.... and what do you do when a parent was also their enabler?

In the case of the Sandy Hook shooter, Adam Lanza, he was clearly mentally ill. He had been diagnosed with Asperger's and had obvious behavioral problems that were likely associated with a lifetime of being bullied by classmates. Now, because his mother was a stupid person, she kept a large stockpile of firearms in their home, and she never took any precautions to safeguard them from his access. On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza armed himself with his stupid mother's loaded guns, and then shot and killed his stupid mother. Lanza then drove his dead stupid mother's car 5 miles to Sandy Hook Elementary school and killed 20 first grade children and 6 teachers, before killing himself. These crimes didn't even leave authorities with anyone to punish. Alas, Adam Lanza and his stupid mother were already dead. So, what do you do about this? Nothing.
