19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

Did they have any securtiy at all? At my son's grammar school, there is only one way in, the front doors. It's a double door. You go through the first one, then need to show your driver's license (and they take your photo) and the reason for your visit. If that flies, they let you into the front office, check you credentials again, then let you in the second entrance leading to the classrooms. I doubt this guy would have passed the first door carrying two guns.;)
There's been mention of an SRO but it seems his whereabouts aren't really known at the moment. There were questions as to if he was on or off campus when the gunman entered.

I think I saw where the resource officer engaged the shooter and made him drop his ammo bag. Not sure what happened after that. I’m not for arming all teachers but having a couple trained backups wouldn’t be a bad idea IMO.

Wow, if you think some of the comments on here are nuts, turn on ESPN. The WNBA player commenting first brought up "white supremacy" in her diatribe. The next one said it's easier to get guns than baby formula. Now the anchorwoman says says it shouldn't be a job requirement for a 30 year old teacher to stand up to an assault rifle.

Not one mention of mental health.

Not one mention of school security.
Yeah there are plenty of comments about this all over social media about mental health . You refuse to see them to further your desire for a theocratic state.

And they’ll be ignored in order to push the espn narrative by the ignorant athletes they choose to interview.

I dont disagree. A principal, assistant principal or other admin personnel imo should be responsible.

If only there was a method via which the Constitution could be updated if enough of the states voted to do so.
No need to go that route. There's plenty of room intentionally built into 2a for rational and reasonable measures.
Hell, some have already been taken.

It’s all absurd. The statistics say it is a non issue.

1 security guard and some training for 2 employees per school seems like a non issue to me. Do you CC places? Random acts of violence towards you is a statistical non issue, but I CC everywhere just in case. I usually agree with your posts, but this is a weird hill you're making a stand on.

I don’t CC.

It’s just a core philosophy to my life and parenting. I don’t believe in making moves based on irrational fears.

The attitude we are speaking about here is why schools were shuttered and then reopened with mandatory masking.
