19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

What would be the reasoning behind letting an 18 year old buy AR-15s? Ya think he's going rabbit hunting???
The body armor bothers me more than the AR-15. A person equips themselves that way when they have the expectation that they are about to be fired upon. Why would a citizen have such an expectation, if they are obeying the law? Nobody goes grocery shopping in body armor.

Thr Buffalo shooter wore body Armour as well. This is becoming a new trend. Not a good one either.

No need to go that route. There's plenty of room intentionally built into 2a for rational and reasonable measures.
Hell, some have already been taken.
Not really. What has occurred is people have improperly encroached on 2a. However that is also getting slowly corrected. 25 states have already legalized constitutional carry with more having legislation in works.

If you read the room you’ll actually see nation wide gun ownership restrictions are being relaxed not tightened. Which is directly in line with the original intent.

The holy grail will be revoking NFA 1934

You’ve never went bird hunting with some of my buddies. Not really sure I’m joking.

I don’t CC.

It’s just a core philosophy to my life and parenting. I don’t believe in making moves based on irrational fears.

The attitude we are speaking about here is why schools were shuttered and then reopened with mandatory masking.

We will agree to disagree. I know it more than likely won't happen but I refuse to ever put myself in the situation of not being able to protect my wife and and daughter if the situation arises. Would be the worst feeling in the world.

Why can’t we all just agree that the idiots that perpetrate these shootings are all nucking futts and the focus needs to be on identifying people who are nucking futts? 🤷‍♂️
Sounds like red flag laws and any ex girlfriend or boyfriend would have your rights stripped away over vendetta

It's easy to tell. Look for the least substantive, least comprehensive replies here; especially those that dwell in absolutes and/or use epithets, derogatory language, and denigration in their responses.

Also...

Consuming content from Fox News is associated with decreased knowledge of science and society
I posed that question because a news outlet will not make the ultimate decision regarding gun violence or legislature. Their opinions even if you agree are meaningless.

Maybe the FBI, DOJ and homeland security should be reading the signs from shooters, all of which post thier intentions via social media before carrying out the act...instead they are policing school board meetings.

I didn’t propose any of that. I merely was pointing to mental illness being the root issue, not the tool. I’m not interested in restricting “assault weapons” capable of causing “mass casualties” I’m not interested in parsing how many people dying is ok or not requiring action.

You can anticipate most.

First question: Are you a democrat?

I'm an intelligent person who can see that we have huge problem in this country with easy access to guns. Whether it's gang members shooting rivals in Chicago or a troubled youth killing kids at a school, it's just obvious to everyone except the clinically deluded that gun access needs to be addressed.

Thoughts and prayers. Mental illness.

Blah blah blah, don't deal with it.

I at least know what the constitution says and it’s intent. Of course you’re probably incapable of learning so you being “ignorant” wouldn’t be the correct choice of words.

That was stupid as hell you troll. Mental illness is the cause. This behavior is not the behavior of mentally healthy people.

As long as you refuse to recognize that and just continue to screech on the tool you can pound sand. In case you didn’t notice nation wide the legislation leans more towards protecting gun ownership rights.

Deal with both. Both are problems. Don't point to the existence of one to blindly excuse the other.
