We were making those decisions, I never worried about it while I was in school … not once . Now let’s go back and figure out where we started straying away from those decisions . Should be an easy fix .
Several things can be done. A good start might be to limit magazine capacity to seventeen. I favor a ban on production and sale of high capacity, self loading rifles. I've owned a few good ones that I enjoyed shooting, but I do just fine without them. The reality is that a percentage of Americans lack the mental integrity to own such weapons without committing mass murder. They make us less secure, not more secure, and they are not necessary for the security of a free state. Taking them off the market probably would stop most of such terrible crimes. It would definitely reduce the number of victims and eliminate the disadvantage an officer with a hand gun experiences when confronting a shooter with an semi-automatic, high capacity rifle.
