19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

It is just the typical mindset. People are pissed about lack of security at schools now. They want someone else to fix it. Stop waiting and do it yourself. The economics of it aren’t that tough.

I don’t think the household of each student is going to foot $400 each. That just isn’t realistic.

I will say this. I would love to see some kind of experiment about legalizing all drugs. You know somehow do it on a very small scale for a few years to collect data and analyze the results before just doing it nationwide. Maybe I am wrong and it would be a huge benefit. I still don’t like drugs but if the benefits were to outweigh the dangers, then I would have to support the legalizations.

Look to Portugal for years of data for a country.

Oregon did it two years ago.

Again. They spend more on TV.

But ok. 500 people give $500. That is $250,000.
$150,000 probably buys a pretty good former military guy. Spend the rest on his insurance, 401, material needs.

But stop making excuses.

Because lately it seems like the only people who buy it are mass murderers
Are they the only people who buy it, or only the people you hear about buying it?
He didn't "hear" anything about it.

I'll take made up 🐃💩 for $1,000.

However, I will oblige and give a real world example I observed last week.

I'm a diesel mechanic. Occasionally I make road calls to help fix minor issues so CDL drivers can get their rigs to a service shop.

Last week I was performing a call at a Truck Stop that didn't have a mechanic shop. The rig next to me was getting hooked to a tow truck.

The Truck Stop's security and tow driver were open carrying with body armor on and discussing the differences in how body armor they've tried limits their mobility, how much hotter it is to wear in the summer.....

They weren't concerned about law abiding drivers legally gun carrying. Their concern is being accosted while inadvertently intercepting drug shipments from criminals. The security guard gets to add dealing with violent pimps and/or prostitues, and robbers to his list.

K-town is full of it on this one.

My daughters SRO wasn’t from Johnson City originally. He rehabbed at the VA and then stuck around and joined the sheriffs department. He said there’s dozens of guys like him looking for a job/purpose. I would estimate he makes about 60 plus benefits. You’re absolutely right that this is easily doable.

The words “on this one” weren’t necessary.

I think the issue in Chicago is a cultural one. These kids are raised without a sense of right or wrong, many perpetrators likely come from broken homes where there's no one to teach or impart moral lessons. There's no hope to get ahead and many are mired in a gang family that has no reverence for the human life.

I think there's a distinction of causation between that and some like the crazy ass whackos who shoot up schools, churches and movie theaters.
This is the result of taking God out of schools. Whether you believe in God or not, right and wrong, believing someone knows what you are thinking and doing, someone who’ll hold you accountable. Instead whatever you think is right and we’ll give you chemicals to “treat” any ail

Yeah, those definitely caused school shootings. It's the godless queers!

Speaking of school, it really is a shame to see how the public education system failed you so miserably.
This one certainly looks fishy and nothing to do with the gay community. This guy looks to be of ethnic background in Texas. Closest state to open borders and With open borders and a lack of means to obtain such weapons, this reeks of the work of an illegal. Possible cartel member? Of course CNN or MSNBC won’t ever tell us if he was.

Well, even if you did that and even if it worked that only reduces the outcome of school shootings. It won't prevent them. Nor will it prevent the bad guy from simply selecting another target.

Only way to prevent use of a gun by someone like this is to keep guns away from those who might do something like this.
The concept of prohibition has proven viable with drugs, alcohol, driver's licenses, etc.

Hopefully Fox or OAN will.

I stated in another thread, I prefer the Feds not get involved and problems be solved at the local level.

A school of 1000 can have each family donate $400 and raise $400,000. That should purchase a pretty top notch security guard.

I understand the direction you’re coming from and I do hesitate any time we take something from the local level and put it in DC. However, I would still be content directing the money for school security from federal funds appropriated for the Dept of Education. To me it kills two birds with one stone. Armed security is funded by the letter of the law under their current budget and the Dept of Ed is forced to do more with less. They’ll have to decide whether woke studies or math/science/English/ are more important. I know what a majority of parents would say. They could probably cut some bureaucratic pay in the process if they need additional funds. Put the onus on them vs another $400 on the parents.

Yea because spending 35 K a year to incarcerate someone for selling 2K worth of pot is a brilliant business mode..

Maybe we should implement more capital punishment and execute it much faster. The druggies aren’t going to prison for first offense violations and in many cases the drug charge is just part of it. I have zero problem with keeping them off the street for as long as possible.

But it’s a start. Don’t disagree with your other observations.

I get what you’re saying but people aren’t going to come out of the pocket when they pay taxes for something that should already be provided.

I call BS.

Maybe you should do some research on how much it costs the state to house a death row inmate, and argue the numerous appeals that the defendant is entitled to under our pesky Bill of Rights. That’s somehow an EVEN WORSE business model.

If your kids are the most valuable things in your life then you put your money where your mouth is. Otherwise you’re just bitching to hear yourself bitching.

Why does anyone want to Feds doing anything on a local level?

Just not for it. I want the DOE abolished, so I sure don’t want them solving local security issues.
